That’s a sad story that went from bad to worst.

Ouch! This definitely beats the times I have left a jug or carton of milk on top of the fridge overnight trying to get to some cold beers.

Similar experience but it was one of my children. People at the dump were very nice but my wife just can’t let it pass even today.🙂

You could make another one that looks just like 'em!

I was in Norfolk, standing on the dock near the USS Wisconsin, leaning on the rail. My cell phone was in my breast pocket. It rang. As I pulled it out to answer, I watched the $300 I had in there next to it come flying out, and then flutter all the way down into the harbor below.

That was probably 25 years ago and I’m still pissed.

I didn’t care about the phone. It was the $300 that I can still see falling like leaves.

Oof! That trumps my story! And that's probably $600 today.

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to trump it! I was commiserating. I would be COMPLETELY pissed about a huge Creekstone prime rib, especially this close to the holiday. I think pretty much the same amount.

Well, at least ya got a good (?) story out of it...

Yeah, I told a work colleague and a buddy and they both laughed at me. It is a good story, to *hear*, not to tell.

I just read this story to my wife…we are both commenting how awful this is. We lost a lot of food and meat when our freezer in the garage was left open in the AZ summer. Disgusted by the loss due to something so trivial is such an understatement.

Ouch, yeah, losing food hurts worse than a regular item of similar value, to me anyway.

That is a sad story..Why couldn't that happen to Brussels Sprouts?

You've given me an idea, next time my wife comes home from getting groceries at Sam's and has a giant tub of Brussels sprouts I'm taking them to the dump!

I lost a whole Deer once when we didn’t use the freezer lock and the door opened everything thawed I was able to give most of it away but the feelings the same.

Seems like an honest misteak to me. No need to roast your wife or get into a beef over it. Just gird your loins and resist the primal urge to spinalis out of control. After all, you are in the prime of your life and it does no good to be a clod and rehash this. Besides, she would likely make mincemeat out of you and you'd end up cradling your bruised ribs. Just let it rest.

I'm punimpressed, but I had to chuck-le a little at the attempt to beef up the moo-ed here. I appreciate your heifert to steer it around.

So, if we accidentally let meat defrost, is that now “pulling a Huskee?”

That brings up an interesting topic idea, something that we had to do in junior high, maybe high school: Write your own obituary. What do we think people would say about us if they wrote our obituary? What can we do better now so that people will say something better about us in the future? Morbid, yes, but makes ya think.

Ooof, that's too morbid to think about, Huskee. That said, my father-in-law had one for him and his wife written and ready for the eventuality. My husband appreciated having them when the time came.

          K.

Wow, sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully, many years from now you guys will look back and laugh about it. Not likely but hoping.

We laughed about it today actually! I told her, loosely, of SonOfAButcher 's suggestion that the next pack of veggies she brings home, maybe two, will go in the trash.

I accidentally destroyed a Macbook Pro, and no, there was no Apple Care taken out on it. It was just a string of unusual things that led up to its demise. Sad thing is that I was going to trade it in, and at least get something for it. Instead, it is a useless brick. C'est la vie.

Here is the way I look at this. We all have to pay a 'stupid tax' in our life. It levies the cost of knowledge. Huskee it just got you! Unfortunately for me, I have paid more than my share without the benefits.
