Do you put salt on melons?

    Never at all in my life have I seen or heard of anyone salting a melon. Mexican fruit on a stick - typically mango - gets tajin or some spice and heat. but I've never done anything to melon but cut it and eat it. maybe you'all are eating crappy melon. get yourself some Sugar Kiss melon and you won't need to dry brine your fruit to eat it, perhaps.

    Watermelon yes, cantaloupe no. Don’t think I’ve tried that before.

    I have these electrolyte packets that I add to water, various flavors, they would be good added to fruit mixes. Heck, I’ve even found drink recipes for them.

      one of the greatest things I discovered when I visited Rome, was that every single restaurant had melon and ham as an appetizer. Salt on a melon is good, but melon with thin sliced ham is amazing!!!

            Yes, every time I can. I was just eating some fresh cantaloupe with a sprinkling of salt. I do the same with watermelon. I learned it from my grandma while visiting at her cabin long ago.

                    Yep. Learned that salting watermelon is the way to go as a kid, sitting on the back porch with a slice and salt shaker, spitting seeds out into the yard.

                          I salt watermelons, cantaloupe, honeydew, kiwi, tomatoes, cukes, radishes, beer and ice cream.
