Cooking, especially over live fire of some kind, is an incredibly creative outlet for me. I love the act of creating great tasting food :-)

Here's where I was going. Outside. Tending a fire. The dog is there. People are coming over. Food brings people together and man and dog have always tended fires and cooked food for man and dog.

        1. It’s helped lower my stress from work.
        2. makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something when things come out good.
        3. Gives me a chance to cook proteins for our local families in need, which makes me feel good inside.
        4. Allows me time to spend with friends and family talking about cooking and learning different ways to BBQ.

          I like to eat bbq.
Home-cooked bbq is better than from restaurants (around here anyway).
Bbq is a good reason to get the family together. A million other cuisines would do just as well but my cooking skills are very limited.

I like to eat and try different foods. The company it brings makes it fun. The challenge of making something turn out and taste good are the rewards. Planning a cook or a meal is part of the fun. Outdoor cooking and anything related to bread baking and other side dishes add more layers of learning, planning and challenges to enhance the total experience. Living in Minnesota we see all four seasons change in a very direct way so foods and cooking styles change with each season.

                1. The challenge of trying to perfect something that you already do well, but want it to be a little bit better.
                2. Taking the pressure off of my wife, so we can share the cooking.
                3. The smell of chicken cooking over a live fire.
                4. The smell that you get from cooking beef with red oak.
                5. The appreciation from family and friends that get to eat what you prepare.
                6. Judging the doneness of something by the number of beers you drink, not time. But I always use my Thermapen to make sure
