I just wanna shuck some oysters around a fire with family and friends telling lies. Maybe someone brought a Weber kettle and we roast some too. Bottle of Crystal hot sauce and I’m good. Cheers!

I was in line behind a woman at the grocery store yesterday who was obviously shopping for Christmas dinner. She had a large bag of BS in her cart and I casually mentioned they were the official vegetable of hell. She gave me a quizzical look, and then I asked how could she do that to her family, and for Christmas to boot! It then dawned on her what I was getting at and she cracked up! We had a nice conversation and then wished each other a Merry Christmas. Gotta love a small town.

Well, if beets and kale (and Brussels sprouts) is your last meal then death seems less frightening (one might even welcome death after eating that). Plus, it makes you believe that the afterlife has to be better.Last edited by 58limited; December 22, 2023, 03:25 PM.

You know back in 2011 Texas banned the requested anything you want last meal to those on death row about to be executed. From an article in The Guardian;
"Texas inmates about to be executed will no longer get their choice of last meal, a change prison officials made after a prominent state senator became miffed over an expansive request from a man condemned for a notorious dragging death.
Lawrence Russell Brewer was executed on Wednesday for the hate killing of James Byrd Jr more than a decade ago. He asked for two chicken fried steaks, a triple-meat bacon cheeseburger, fried okra, a pound of barbecue, three fajitas, a meat lover's pizza, a pint of ice cream and a slab of peanut butter fudge with crushed peanuts. Prison officials said Brewer did not eat any of it."
That said PJ, in your case we are going to offer you the following .....

Beans in chili, while it is a state crime, only calls for 90 days solitary confinement. Gives you plenty of time to think about what you did.

As a footnote to the above, the State Senator who was outraged is John Whitmire, the newly elected mayor of Houston. You'd better sell your condo and move to Katy Panhead John. They're coming for your meat

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
Wow. I’m going to assume
1) This isn’t the executioner’s song; it’s my last meal, and I know it, but I’m not facing the chair.
2) I’m able to eat it all. For less than ridiculousness’s sake, I’ll concede that this meal would mean just a taste of each of the following, maybe just a teaspoonful, but I will also allow however much time I need to savor each taste, and maybe take a second taste.
This meal would include:
An orange.
A pear.
A few blueberries.
A peach.
Some cashews, some pecans, and some peanuts.
A couple different tomatoes.
A little each of French onion soup, tomato bisque, ham and bean soup, split pea soup, lentil soup, chicken soup, and my mom’s hamburger soup, that her mom made during the depression.
A piece of lasagna.
A forkful of spaghetti carbonara and one of basil pesto linguini.
Some blue cheese, some old cheddar, and some aged Gouda.
Spare ribs.
Pork belly burnt ends.
A cheeseburger.
A slice of supreme pizza; you know, pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions, etc.
A perfect porterhouse.
Short ribs.
Really, really hot chicken wings. One wing, one drum. I love both.
Cheesy potatoes.
Bbq’d baked beans. The sweet ones.
A mushroom and onion omelet, with lots of hot sauce.
Bacon.
A quesabirria taco.
A burrito.
Vanilla ice cream.
Yellow cake with chocolate icing.
Pecan pie.
Coconut cream pie.
That looks like a lot, but if you give me one bite of each, it’s less than 50 bites. And I won’t have to worry about going to the gym to work it off the next day.

You too should never commit a capital offense in Texas.

Troutman CaptainMike I forgot to add a bowl of chili. I could probably get at least that for my last meal after committing a capital offense in Texas… and I could probably get it with crackers!

Panhead John Yep.
Grilled cheese and fries from the Kingburger Drive-In in Lima, Ohio.
That means I would go back in time about 50 years and it would no longer be my last meal.

Depends on the scenario, why is it my last meal on earth? Am I back in the Army and it's the last meal before combat (that one is a tradition: Steak and potatoes) or am I about to go to the electric chair? Or dying of cancer (my mother-in-law wanted McD Quarter Pounders in that scenario). Etc
Anyhow, if I am reasonably healthy, with a good appetite, and I know tomorrow is the last day for whatever reason .....
