    Prime Brisket at CLT Costco

I've been jealous for a while reading about guys going into Costco and buying full packer brisket and only finding flats at my local store. That changed today and it is amazing! The store on Tyvola has full packer PRIME brisket for $2.99/lb while their flats are $4.59/lb. Go figure. Go get'em David Parrish and scottranda!

If anyone else goes to the Charlotte Costco, would you mind seeing if you could get the ordering info so that I could give it to whoever orders meat at my Costco _ Thanx.

Okay, got the details finally .... ask for Brisket Whole Prime Commodity
They are available for every location except on East Coast, which is special order only.
*this is as of now. Prime availability can change quickly, and on short notice.

East Coast means north of DC, by the way.

I concur. All the Costco's in the SF Bay area carry $2.99 per lbs PRIME whole packer brisket. Seems too good a deal from what others are saying. Further, some Costco's even offer a trimmed prime brisket, but for $7.69 a lbs. Compared to the $2.99 and a little work doing the trimming yourself, it doesn't seem like a very good deal to go with the trimmed. Am I missing something?

I'm in Chico - the $2.99lb whole packers have been here since just before Christmas. I haven't seen the trimmed ones yet.

The only trimmed brisket for $7.99/lb I've seen at Costco was just a hunk of flat. Not worth it, in my opinion. You can separate point and flat yourself, and trim yourself.

My other two cents worth on that. Trimming a packer yourself is a really important way to learn brisket. You're gonna F it up the first time. That's okay. You'll learn an immense amount about that piece of meat in the process. That you won't learn otherwise.

I love that feeling when you find a killer source. Nice work. Whole packers are the way to go, my friend.

Problem is that we don't know if this was a one time fluke, or the norm for now on. I just had to go pick one up in case it was a fluke. If I weren't married, I would have bought ALL of them 😛

You could always go back and ask if they will be stocking them from now on. Add see reply #6 above.

scottranda I was at my Costco today and they had cryo's of Tri-Tip .... like 5-6 in each, for $5.99/lb ... I was already buying a packer, a pork belly and 2 cryo's of back ribs. You have no idea how hard it was not to also pick up a cryo of Tri-Tip! Being married saved me, I think.

I buy Choice Tri-Tip cryo packs, 20lb packs, at Smart & Final for $2.99 per pound her in Hermosa Beach, Ca.👌 They are much less than Costco on a few items and theres no membership fee. Their main customer is the local small restaurant owners and they also sell to individuals.

I think you guys along with Meathead should try to negotiate a blanket order of 250,000 pounds of USDA Prime grade Brisket, from Costco. The average brisket is 15 pounds so your blanket order would be about 16,666.66 briskets. There are about 20,000 AR Pit members plus with your collective connections around the BBQ industry I would think selling that many brisket wouldn't be that difficult.

You could actually control the Prime grade brisket market by forming a major buying group. You could have the major cattle producers bidding to get their share of the market you created. The market is there... someone just needs to control it.😎

A blanket order for 250,000 to 500,000 pounds of Prime Brisket might be so attractive that they can't say no...🤔

I've sold Costco product before and know the buyers. I can't tell you that if you present that offer correctly their eyes will light up. Would they do it? Hmmm... maybe. Coming up with 500,000 pounds of Prime grade brisket would not be easy.🙈

Breadhead - brisket might be hard, but getting 500,000 pounds of bull____ would be easy around here.
