Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
My son and family are enroute from Vermont. We'll be celebrating my granddaughters soon to be 3rd birthday. A little party with them and my daughter and her crew. I have reserved for Saturday, 10 1.25# lobsters. My S.I.L will pick up and cook. I assume he's doing them at our house. It's a washout here so no outdoor cooking. Sunday,I be doing 3 racks of St. Louis cut ribs. Burgers and hotdogs for the kids. I'm sure other stuff will be added. Happy Fathers Day to all who are.

My son and his girlfriend are coming over and I will cook some prime beef plate ribs that I ordered from Wild Fork. I plan to monitor the LSG from my hammock, only getting up to add wood or to get another adult beverage. Gotta stay hydrated you know. I also will pass the time reading my father's day present, Aaron Franklin's new book. Weather is supposed to be perfect here, sunny with a high of 82f. Should be a great day.

No kids either, so we are just being casual today. I have no idea why, but we are trying to make home made pizza rolls to snack on for YOUR TEXAS RANGERs! game, who have been worth watching this year and not so much in prior years.

tstalafuse the only baseball I checked on this weekend was LSU. Since I didn't sleep much Friday night, and slept so much Saturday afternoon, I woke up today thinking it was Monday. Started eating breakfast and realized.....

No plans of any kind. It’s our “off year” with my son. Meaning the in laws get to see him and his family. I’ll probably spend most of the day in my woodworking shop. Maybe toss some burgers or brats on the grill for dinner. That’s about it! 🤷♂️

My out of town son bought a couple of teres major steaks and a ribeye from a local butcher, Z Bar Cattle Co, that I will pick up this morning. We always have teres major steaks from his local butcher when I visit them. This will be my first time to cook them and I hope I do as well as he does.

For lunch I made a big batch of Bloody Mary’s. Made a batch of coney sauce for coney dogs. A roasted red pepper, sun dried tomato, chipotle spread. In a tin sautéed onion and jalapeño, Asiago, cheddar and Velveta, a red sauce of diced tomatoes, lime juice, taco sauce and homemade hot sauce. Seasoning and sour cream. Cooked on the offset with a small and very hot fire until everything integrated.

My kids think I’m hard to shop for so they each independently have hit on what they believe should be my Father’s Day present. Since I’m supposedly so hard to shop for they keep their present ideas from each other so the others don’t steal the ideas; and I’m sworn not to reveal what I get from each family.
Yesterday I got a GoldBelly shipment of a Key Lime pie from Florida from one family
Today I received a delivery from a local bakery of a Key Lime pie from another family.
Just now I received a call from my son who lives nearby. His family is on the way over to bring me a homemade Key Lime pie.
Anyone want a slice of pie?

This is so funny. A pie marathon!
Our two girls do the same with their Dad--he, like you, is hard to buy for, but he enjoys gifts that don't leave a footprint in the house. So they hit up Goldbelly, L.A. Burdick, etc. At least they coordinate their gifts or go in halve-sies. What is it with you hard-to-buy-for guys, anyway? Fortunately, for hubby, I'm always up for the challenge.
He's well worth the effort. I bet your family thinks the same.
