First I think most of us don’t want to see any of us with less cloths on than we had at lunch. Body by BBQ kind of looks like a tube to begin with.

On top of that when we used to be in the lake skiing year round we would be in wet suits by the end of October. It think the springs in San Marcos are 68, but that time of year the water is cooling as you go down river.

Maybe Burnt Bean and then River Walk would work on Saturday. I looked up the Gruene Hall Schedule and they don’t have many things planned that far out. I did notice that most of the Friday shows start about 4:00. Gruene Hall then Gristmill/Clear Springs might work for Friday.

I like what your thinking. I could go for some onion rings and bronze catfish from the gristmill TxF I wasn't thinking about it's in the future, I was thinking about now when we were talking the river. Yeah this time of year I usually haul the kayaks down the hill to fish for rainbow trout.

There are supposed to be some good places in San Antonio: 2M specifically. Since I’ll be there already on Wednesday, I’ll probably hit it up for some lunch and then some carry out for dinner. Or maybe get some Mexican for carry out dinner.

At the very first Texas MeatUp in Rockdale, maybe 4 years ago? Uncle Bob brought a bottle of bourbon to share with the group. For the bourbon drinkers among us, it was a nice addition to the festivities. At the last MeatUp in April, several people just happened to bring some bourbon/whiskey to share with the group. They shared their thoughts on what they had sampled and it was a nice way for people to taste some possibly “new to them” spirits. During a phone call last week Purc mentioned to me what a great time he had trying out new bourbons and suggested we do it again, I agree.

Anyway, I just wanted to throw this out there for the bourbon lovers in the group. Or, if there’s another type of spirits you’d like to bring, feel free to do so. No one is under any obligation to do so, this is strictly voluntary of course. If there’s enough interest in this, maybe we can designate a night for the bourbon tasting?

I will be bringing some of my special “boutique” bourbon glasses for each member to have…

I just booked the hotel. I have a couple of flight vouchers so i’ll probably fly into San Antonio Thursday morning. Since John is still trying to poach my woman, I guess I’ll have to I bring my backup

Just a suggestion here but, if you’d like to meet us at the hotel Saturday morning you’ll be able to meet everyone….as well as deciding where you’d like to eat. We “sometimes” split into a couple of groups with one group going here and one going over yonder. No problem though if that doesn’t work for you.

I just called the hotel and they added some more rooms to the block for us. We have 5 King rooms left and 1 double Queen room. If the double queen gets booked and someone later wants one and it’s not showing up, PM me and I’ll arrange to get more blocked off for us.

Linda and I will be there Thursday evening and leaving Sunday morning. We are driving down. Linda came to Louisiana meat up last year. I don't think Texas will be able to compete with the alligator tour!
