I've mentioned this before - I'm a trial lawyer. No trials=no work=no income. I can't even imagine when it will be safe for the state to summon 500 people from the public to jury duty in each of the NYC courts where I practice.

I was a little surprised when our daughter, living just east of Seattle, told us today she has been diagnosed with polyps in her nasal passages and they are scheduling her for the first week in May. She needs to self quarantine for the next couple of weeks.

Potatoes and salami come off. The potatoes are foil-wrapped and will be warmed in the oven for dinner tonight. The salami will be cut up and used as a garnish for Bloody Mary's.

The OKJ produces a flavor profile that I can't replicate with charcoal and wood chunks, but it's high-maintenance as heck. So, after 3.5 hours I moved the short ribs and chuck roast to the kettle +SnS to finish. The short ribs are for dinner tonight and I'll be making pot roast tonight with the smoked chuck to be used for dinner tomorrow with lots of leftovers. This is what the meat looked like just before I transferred it to the kettle:

Relaxing with a cold Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Tomorrow is bacon cure day and have a nice 15 lb CAB brisket wet aging in the fridge. Smoking starts next weekend ;-)

Here's me at "work" handing out Palm Branches on Sunday. When the participants got semi organized they had a parade around town, waving the palms out the window. It was a beautiful day, people just wanted to get out. In the middle picture, behind me and tree is the parsonage. Photographer was using a telephoto lens, so actually, the house isn't that big, the garage and house across the street look like they are part of ours. But that is one of the churches I serve behind me in the third picture.

ID:	827985 cold tolerant stuff--lettuce and root vegis and such which went in yesterday ( 4/6). I see from my notes that this is the earliest I've planted where I live in the western burbs of Denver. There's a similar sized plot with more sun that will get the warmer plants--basil, tomato, etc later on in spring. The shed in the back is my wife's writing studio, renovated from a chicken coop.
