My honey mustard wings, or fancy pants riblets which are baby backs that I have the butcher rip into 3 sections to make them finger food. Lisa is bringing deviled eggs.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
I call them “baby back rib bites”. They’re boneless country style ribs, from the loin not the shoulder. I season them like ribs, then grill them like a steak until charred. Then cut them into cubes, and braise them in bbq sauce for about an hour. Serve with toothpicks, and bbq sauce on the side.
I’d fancy them up for a party, but this is how they look when I make them here at home for fun:

Nope. We’re not invited anywhere. Son and family are at the in-laws for T-Day. So we’re alone for that. They’ll come over here for Christmas and I’ll cook the whole shebang. DIL usually brings some sort of killer dessert though. Next year it will alternate with them here for T-Day etc. That’s it. No other plans. Sheesh. We need a life. 🙄🤷♂️

Stuffed mushrooms with some combo of bleu cheese, spinach, sausage, etc. While we can’t get the best tomatoes anymore, caprese “on a stick” comes with a built-in fork. Tiny meatballs with whatever current “it sauce” I feel like…. Oh wait, how about currants?

Oh oh oh…. And I think there should be a seasonal cocktail and maybe a bourbon/whiskey tasting table. Funny how this has morphed from a simple suggestion inquiry to party planning!
Back to an actual suggestion: any good party should have a sweet! Seasonal cookies or brownie bites are my go-to.

Two things I know of right off the top of my head that are a big hit no matter the occasion are:
Layer mexican dip thing with taco flavored sour cream, jalapeño flavored (not spicy) bean dip, tomatoes, black olives, green onions, and shredded chedar cheese, with tortilla chips and salsa.
Use roma tomatoes so it does not get soupy.
And this:

I make a similar pie called Mississippi Mud. I use powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar, pecans instead of walnuts and there isn't any vanilla pudding or chocolate chips. It always gets decimated at parties. There is never any left over.

Carolyn This one has a couple different names. I saw a comment about using powered sugar instead. I'm going to try that in the next one I make.

We are pretty traditional when it comes to Thanksgiving. Sticking to the family dishes: Appetizers: Heart of Palm Dip, glazed Summer Sausage, cheese/crackers. Main Event: Roasted Turkey, Cranberry Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Salad.
But this year I'm going to serve a cup of Gumbo by itself at the beginning. This way I get everybody in their seat. No meandering around when you're trying to get hot food on the table. Then have the main course on serving trays and let everyone serve themselves. I anticipate that this will be the first time in 20 years I get a warm Thanksgiving dinner, rather than being last and getting cold turkey
