Dang it was dark at 4:30 AM! Posted last night about fixing up "Ole Leakey" with some Lava Lock and some welding on the fire box... Don't know why the dang post is not showing up to anyone but me. Can't even find it in the Stickburner thread!
Anywho, 7 hours into a great looking brisket. Finally got this old smoker where I can hold it on a dime.

Eat Well and Prosper! From a Backyard Cremator in Fargo ND, Dan
Put the Lava Lock on yesterday. Hauled the welder to the back yard and welded a huge gap in the firebox wall that for some reason was never welded in the first place! Man this this holds some great steady temps now. BTW, my welding still sucks! LOL
Oh man I LOVE this thing even more now. It has always been a love hate thing with this pit. I bought it brand new, but it was in the dark. Never noticed the firebox wasn't welded all the way until later and always figured I would just get out the welder. Well that took two years!
