ONLY 2 MORE DAYS TILL THE CAJUN MEATUP! ……

The weather for us this weekend looks to be pretty darn good! Very little to no chance of rain with midday temps in the mid 80’s. Don’t bring your sweaters 🙄 but don’t forget your coolers if you want to bring home some Cajun goodies from some of the local specialty meat shops! Also, for the folks who ordered a T-shirt, Candy Sue can take either cash or checks for payment. I’ll start a NEW post Wednesday night just for our MeatUp pics, as well as any travel pics if you wish. Really looking forward to meeting everyone, as well as seeing old friends again!

I’m looking forward to them too David. From what Panhead John posted, it looks like we can count on at least one Weekend Update.

Draznnl I’m thinking about providing hourly updates starting tomorrow afternoon, everyone please clear your calendar.

I'm flying, so no cooler for me 😢. But I am looking so forward to seeing everyone!

Anyone going to the Cajun MeatUp want these? It’s a 5 qt. Dutch Oven and a 2.5 qt. Pyrex baking dish, no lid. Needs a little cleaning. It’s yours free if ya want 1 or both of them. I’m slowly cleaning out a closet and I’m not using either one of em. Let me know and I’ll bring em with me tomorrow. If more than 1 person wants em, we can do a “closest number between 1 and 10” wins, or something similar….tomorrow night.

The Dutch oven is a No. 8 BSR, probably their Red Mountain line. Good quality stuff, somebody speak up or I'll blackmail John into giving it to me (he already gave me some cast iron awhile back)

My bad, the Dutch oven when seen in person is a 5 quart marked Made in Korea. But, the lid looks like a No. 8 BSR skillet lid.

58limited I wish I could join y’all for all the fun, and if I were there I would add to the fun by armwrestling you for that Dutch Oven.

Me and PJ are here - finally. John left Houston at 8 and I left Port Arthur at 10 with the goal of meeting up at the rest area just over the state line in Louisiana. Well ...

Major back up on I- 10 in Louisiana that backed up several miles into Texas: an 18 wheeler flipped over in a construction zone that was two lanes wide with concrete barriers on either side and they had to use big wreckers to lift it over the barriers to open the lanes.

John got through first and headed to Lafayette with a stop at Sonic for a tater tot. I passed him and got there first but we both took wrong turns and somehow we ended up pulling into the hotel parking lot at the same time. I'm at a nearby bar and grill getting lunch, John said something about a nap 'cause he's old

Heard after negotiating traffic, hitting the bottle a little too early and forgetting his little blue pills, a good sound nap was in order. Do yourself a favor 58limited, don't wake him up until its time to go home.

                  Nice Mr. Noob!

Alrighty folks, you can start posting your pics etc. on the new thread I just started. Thanks!

Don’t be fooled by cheap imitations….this is the official post! Anyway, as David mentioned we were supposed to meet at the rest stop just inside Louisiana. Those plans went to hell. Anyway, I left Houston at 8 am headed to Louisiana. Typical early morning traffic…… About 5 miles from the La. border we hit this on
