Man, I told my son about this deal, and he says he has to spend his money on a new privacy fence right now. And my son-in-law is holding out to redo his patio with a flat top and a Weber kettle. Can't fault him for wanting a kettle really... I've not told him I gave away the SNS I was holding onto for him...

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.

What else can you do? Tonight we did some sockeye salmon on the griddle, similar setup as the steak cook, but using a Lodge 10" griddle pan (@Panhead John will try to tell you it's a 12-14" but like his girl friends say, he exaggerates on size all the time). Sear on the top side and then flip and let it coast to proper doneness with a little glaze on top. More Bronco power..............

It’s obvious Uncle Bob has imbibed 🍺 a little too much tonight, nevertheless I’m going to share with y’all an accessory he turned me onto after I bought my Bronco. I haven’t bought one yet, but probably soon. It’s a 3 piece grate for it, each section is removable if you want to hang something, in addition to using this grate. Maybe he’ll share his pics with us that he has, in the meantime here it is. I’ll include a link to buy also.

That was basically the comment from my friend who gpt one. It is much heftier than it initially seems, which, I suppose is very good thing.

That sucker is built like a tank. I honestly would have paid $450. for it if I needed to. I’ll betcha if HawkerXP got him one, that PBC would get awfully lonely! 🥸Last edited by Panhead John; April 2, 2022, 10:30 AM.

Well lookee here what showed up today…hmmm, wonder what kind of Shish kabobs I’ll make tonight? Steak and shrimp or just steak kabobs? Thanks for the idea DTro Can’t wait to try them out.

I’ve gotta go to the local HEB shortly for the ingredients for the shish kabobs. It’s kind of a big deal when you shop at HEB. People will dress to the nines when they go shopping there. It’s kind of a "See and be Seen" type of store. Not to be left out, I’ve already decided what I’ll wear. Heads will turn as I sashay down the aisles.

Maybe I’m missing something, it happens a lot, but I’m not sure what difference it would have made for "this" cook, to reverse the legs. 🧠If I was hanging a chicken or something big, I would have reversed them for more support. Either way, I just screwed em in without thinking about it.

Joey877, that lower piece can go either way depending on what you're doing. The way PJ has it they can be used in a mode like a stand as well. Turned over as you envision the upward curve can (but not always) help support bulkier stuff, like a chicken perhaps, with more "push up" sorta.

My name is Josh, not Joey (surprise), and I reside in Central Ohio. I have been grilling since I could drive, and smoking for around 15 years. Over the past couple of years I have gotten more into just cooking, and really enjoy sous vide and the flat top. I find myself experimenting with different foods and new ways of cooking as an outlet to work stress. I use every piece of equipment I own regularly, with the exception of the electric smoker. That only gets brought out on occasion to make jerky.
My favorite beverage is bourbon. I typically have at least 8-10 bottles open at any given time. While I have favorites, I enjoy sampling new and different varieties.
So mine is still sitting in my garage, but after a lot of further thought I think I am going to return it. While it was (and is) a really good deal, I'm thinking the fact that this smoker is still analog is going to bother me as I try to move into the 21st century. It seems that digital is the wave of the future and after researching this some more, I have decided I want to embrace the future.
The deal is almost too good to pass up, so I was still thinking I would hang onto this...but then I searched Walmart.com for analog charcoal and couldn't find any. Not any. Not a single bag or briquette. It seems obvious that analog fuel is being phased out, so I think everyone that bought one of these should seriously consider sending it back.
Unless someone can tell me where to get a good deal on analog charcoal. If so, and I can buy a couple years' supply, I can safely keep the smoker. But not my mind. I have lost my mind.

Don’t return it just yet Joey. With a few modifications you can easily convert the Bronco to use digital charcoal. I’ve already done it with mine, as I only have a few bags of analog charcoal left. Go to my website for tips on the conversion process….www.pjsanidiot.comLast edited by Panhead John; April 4, 2022, 02:31 PM.

Speaking as a CPA who chose to work in industry, I have two observations:
1) I’d be more worried about you if you weren’t going crazy by April 4th, and
2) It’s your own fault!
Seriously though, wait until the busy season is over and decompress for a few days before making any potentially life-changing decisions

Joey877 and Panhead John - The skewer forks can go either way so you can stand them on a table for Tacos El Pastor or shish kabobs- or turn them the other way to hold a full size bird.

My attempts at humor will fall pretty flat over the next week and a half, but I don't care because I am slap happy and will be laughing at myself. And I've found being mean to Panhead John makes everyone else laugh...
