Yes I do and you’re welcome. Congrats my new Bronco buddy, I think you’ll really enjoy it. Can’t wait to see your first cooks on it. Let us know if you have any questions, there’s quite a few people here with experience on it.

Wow! If my math is right, we’ve got 7 new Bronco owners from this post and sale..so far. I know there’s a few more out there maybe on the fence. Just go ahead and do it! We must overtake those pesky PBC owners, bunch of scoundrels and scallywags is what they are. …

I'm tickled that folks are starting to catch on to the Bronco. Even though I have a whole lot more outdoor cooking toys the Bronco and his Pro bigger brother are two of my favorites for performance and versatility. So tonight I cooked dinner on the Bronco and will give you new, owners to be, a little show in versatility. If you go through the Bronco sub category posts done over the past couple years you'll see many more ways that this little guy can perform, wonderfully I'll add. I can laugh at the "garbage can" jokes because I like to throw the same kind of shade from time to time, but if someone thinks that way for real they just don't have a clue. Ribeyes anyone?

Uncle Bob LA Pork Butt Hey Bob, I knew one inch sounded a little short, I just went and measured and …with the diffuser plate turned upside down and the charcoal basket resting on top, it is 3 1/4” from the cooking grate to the top rim of the charcoal basket.

Uncle Bob and Panhead John thanks! From the picture it appeared you were cooking raised grate. The normal distance from the charcoal to the grill on my BGE is 4”. If I used my Vortex it would be 6”.

Mine is closer to the upper grate because I set the vortex up on the second grate level (not on the deflector piece) which is roughly 5" below the upper one, and the vortex is roughly 4.5" in height and the coals are just below the rim.

In my continuing effort to reinforce the wisdom of your Bronco purchase here's another form of cook that this puppy excels at. This is historical shot, not tonight, but hey, it's real.

Good idea bkono My first cook on it was burgers and dogs. What I did for this cook was light a little less than a full chimney of coals. Once they were hot I poured them on one side of the charcoal basket, with a few hickory chunks, and cooked everything off to the other side. Took about 45 minutes for the pork loin and poppers.

No, you guys need to stop...This puppy is sitting in my garage in a box. And there's nothing I can do about that for two weeks and three days, because I own an accounting practice. This means I will be at work for the next two weeks and three days and not able to assemble, season or cook on my new smoker.

Edit - never mind, found it.

Well, that's "harvest time" for your biz..............but think about that big flow of earned fees rollin' in. You'll be flush enough to buy prime beef and such..............though you'll be so worked out you probably won't have the energy to cook or appetite to eat..................

@kflowers I justified my extra spend on Bronco accessories on the great deal I got. I bought mine in September when the regular price was $350 and a Lowes was dumping their summer supplies and gave me an un-advertised $99 off. I also had a Lowes gift card so I bought an extra, shelf, grate, and skewers.

Panhead John- Looks like you found skewers. I bought the OKJ /Chargriller branded ones too. I have cooked whole chickens, boneless breast, and kabobs with mine.

Panhead John I'm not really complaining. My wife tried for approximately 7 seconds to tell me I had to trade an existing cooker for the Bronco but gave up after I couldn't stop laughing. She doesn't even bat an eye at the "small" boxes anymore, so accessories are no problem.

How do you like the Pro compared to the regular? Is it worth the price difference? I'd have to get it repainted to maroon if I bought one

You Aggies!! The Pro performs pretty much the same, as you might expect, just bigger. One of the nice things about it is the 22" dimension, I've got a number of do-dads designed for Weber kettles that bring some added versatility to the party. Some miss the point of this by comparing to the regular, but I compared it to a Hunsaker or Gateway, which it beat pricewise by a bunch and the cooking grate is at rim level instead of sunk down in the drum.
