I'll roll in a couple of updates in a few different posts.

Last year, we closed the original location of #theRibList, my house, which was destroyed by a Tornado Oct 27, 2021. It was our Bonus Natural Disaster. It was a small tornado, doing big damage to a dozen homes and some damage to a couple dozen more.

This is where all my barbecue learning happened, starting with the charcoal grill I had before, then the COS (Cheap Offset Smoker), WSM #1, then #2, then Lil' Tex, our first stickburner. Then #WhoDat, our gigantic Gravity Fed Cabinet. Then my Jambo, which I still love! (Jambo makes an appearance in this film...look for it!). There were others, too...But now we are Stick Burner People!

I brought a friend to help us say goodbye to that Chapter. It was touching, and I thought I would share it with Ya'll.

P.S. Bonus points if you can see and name all the smokers/grills in this vid!

Did you rebuild your home and stay there or did you move homes too? Very nice video Paul.

We moved homes, Huskee. Bought it a few weeks before this Tornado, which was God's provision for us! You'll love the new neighborhood when you move down here!

I am without words...what does it take to get 5 stars?

Congrats Paul. I can't wait to make it down. I'll probably give you 10 stars. Well, if you replace those chairs...

        Damn. That is just... damn.

Where can I get one of those hats?

      Hello my AmazingRibs Friends!

I'm still here, slogging through the Terrible Inflation that the geniuses in Wash D.C. have created in the past couple years, costing me, well, you could by a 5,000 sf custom home in my town for the extra food costs we've suffered.

And we're still recovering from Hurricane Laura that tore up our city with 150 mph winds 4 years ago. Most buildings are fixed, but plenty are not, and we are still about 15% down in population.

But our food is FANTASTIC at PaulsRibShackBarbecue.com, and I'm so proud of that, and our incredible crew!

My friend Huskee just messaged me to check on us, since there is another Hurricane making landfall in Louisiana tonight. Mercifully, this one is not as strong, and has moved away from my part of the state and landed to my East. I pray for my neighbors and friends being battered by the winds and waves right now.

Last night, I went to our barbecue joint, and changed the signboard. Storms and trials are coming. That won't change. They question of the hour is: What makes us strong enough to endure them? Strong enough to emerge on the other side with resiliency and, ultimately, joy?

      What Makes America Strong?

Here's my answer: It's because we Trust our God, Help our Neighbors, Strengthen our Families and Love Our Country!

      Love, paul

I saw they demolished the Capital One building. I picked up my Fritz Lang scholarship checks from that building in the mid-90's.

So cool to hear from ya & see yer still up and runnin. 👍👍👍
