The kids hunting group did not get a draw this year, first time in a while. Hopefully next year so that we can host them. Also a good excuse to smoke a brisket for the six of them.

Good deal. My two smaller bucks yesterday were a 6 and a 4, no culls.....darn it.

Saw 5 at this spot yesterday morning. Nice 8 chasing two does at 9:01am., and then 2 much smaller bucks at 9:20 and 9:50...and that was it.

This GhostBlind works as advertised. Not a single deer had a clue. I walked away from it about 10 yards then turned around and was surprised how absolutely invisible this thing was.

      Proof I actually hunted.

texastweeter yeah, I got my camper shell on my truck, and I got my Cabela's cot in the back. I got a little buddy heater so I can sleep in my truck somewhat comfortably for 2-3 hours.

Wife saw a spike, a doe, and a MONSTER 10 point tonight, but couldn't get a shot tonight. I hung out in my pistol blind with CJ, but didn't see anything. Still a wonderful way to sepnd Sunday after church.

I often enjoy being out in the country and I even like it when no game shows up. Just nice and peaceful.

If I sleep 2-3 hours I'm wide-eyed until noon. 5-6 hours of sleep and an hour after sunrise I could use a nap.

One of my arms on my glasses came off while I'm 12 ft up a tree. I'm almost 0.9 miles from my truck. Couldn't see that well coming out. Can you tell on the map where I got turned around and around and around...??

Saw two does. They passed about 20 yards from me. No bucks. This stuff hasn't been burned in 20+ years, so find this:

Does eat even better than bucks, and you got another month to month and a half to pack out a rack. Ida given one of them does a dose of lead!

texastweeter I can't. No antlerless during rifle on public land. Archery and muzzleloader only.

Well the 8 point I walked last Saturday turned out to be a 9. He messed up and walked out in front of Amanda. A 6mm Remington to the neck and he took a dirt nap right there. Dropped off the cape and head at my taxiderist. Headed home to put the quarters into the locker.

Tell Amanda I said hey. And remind me not to ever say her hair looks grey if a rifle is near.

I am going to try to get down there this spring. I may not make the meat up because of our Boys Night Out weekend, but I plan on putting the rv on the road. I'll let you know.

texastweeter Congratulations to you and Amanda on a successful hunt.

I don't have a deer yet so no deer photo or deer dish photo but I've been out working on it. Firearm deer season in Michigan is November 15th to 30th and I'm back home for a few days now. I'll hunt our muzzleloader season next month if the deep snow holds off. Here's some of the recent sign:

I'd pee in that scrape right away. Drives a big dominant buck nuts!

Watched a little fork horn for a bit, and a very large piney wood rooter, but nothing worth letting Emma touch one off on.
