AP Wire Report: A Texas man was banished from his home state today, for allegedly putting beans in his chili. As word spread of this unforgivable misdeed, furious Texans descended upon his home, forcing him out with fire, bats and pitchforks. A search of his kitchen did indeed find a pot of good ol’ Texas chili, desecrated with beans! The crowd recoiled in horror upon seeing this, not believing what lay before their eyes! They were astounded to see that he actually ruined a perfectly good pot of chili! Ya damn traitor!..Idiot!..Moron! …were just a few of the insults hurled at him. After forcibly removing him from his home, he was then extradited to Rhode Island, forced to live out the rest of his life in a state no bigger than his hometown of Houston.
Furious Texans Descend Upon His Home…….

As most of you know, I lost a bet with ItsAllGoneToTheDogs over a Cowboys game, forcing me to make chili with beans 😱 so I did just that tonight. Here’s the results. I honestly haven’t put beans in my chili since I was making it out of a packet, in my 20’s and 30’s. I would actually use canned red kidney beans in it, which today disgusts me. I now hate red kidney beans. Anyway, I didn’t have a clue about how or when to add the fresh pinto beans I used tonight. Winging it, I decided to almost fully cook the dried pintos with no seasonings, drain the water and then add the beans 30 minutes before my chili was done…..good call! I didn’t make an authentic Texas red this time, but used another variation I also like. For the meat it was browned Chuck steak and hamburger meat.

This was painful! 😳

While the end result was still pretty good, I won’t be using beans anymore. I love beans and I love chili! I just don’t like beans in my chili…….
