Well, what have we learned here?
- It’s just food. Preferences matter, but absolutes are ridiculous.
- I’ve found that no-bean chili purists are a definite minority, maybe even in Texas.

- I have my definite chili no/nos, but beans are not on that list. I’ll use beans if those in serving expect and like them.
- There are some great looking chili recipes out there. I have about 30 of them in Paprika.
- We can enjoy some good natured rivalry on this subject and get down to enjoying our chili.

Thanks rlozinak I just had one bowl, but it was a good sized bowl…….oops, forgot. Going back in the kitchen to cleanup, I scooped more into the bowl, and ate it over the sink, so maybe 1 1/2 bowls. 🤓

I’m a no beans no tomatoes kinda guy, but my wife loves both of them. So, when I make chili it usually has tomatoes and beans…and it’s good.
…but I usually call it Chili Stew. 🤣Comment

I have greatly enjoyed the string of texts about this challenge. If Panhead John does actually become exiled to Rhode Island, it won't all be bad. I have lived in Houston as well as in Virginia with sons born in each of those states. While I am now in Rhode Island where commercial BBQ is limited, we do have good home barbecue BBQ. In addition, he can drown his sorrows with beer while sampling Rhode Island delicacies such as stuffies and calamari.
