I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
FireBoard 2 Pro
Anova Precision Cooker
I've heard of a soup before that has no beans but lots of smoked meat and a broth made from dried peppers. The name escapes me right now.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
Many of us are old enough to have grandparents who were parents during the depression. My grandmother, and then my mother, used to make everything into soup! Lasagna for dinner? Tomorrow it’s lasagna soup. My mom had a huge stock pot on the stove. As soon as the Thanksgiving dishes were done, the turkey carcass, along with the giblets and scraps and juices from the serving platter, were boiling in the stock pot. Even leftover hamburgers were made into hamburger soup.
I don’t do that. But I do make soup pretty often. This would probably work out naturally, that I would be doing a soup around that time.

Good point Mosca , with most people having just finished a turkey, some might want to freeze the leftover meat and bones for a Turkey Soup in January.

Panhead John Nah. It’s not that much more expensive now to buy a quart of turkey broth.
I think turkey soup is far better than turkey. It’s like, a good chicken dinner just blows away a good turkey dinner. But a good turkey soup will give any chicken soup a run for its money!

Sounds good. It will be in the mid to high 50's during the day and the 30's at night. Much to cold to cook outside! So I'm in.
Posolé Rojo sounds good or maybe Creamy Chicken/Turkey & Wild Rice.

We don't eat much soup, but we have a few basic ones that we make now and again, Mostly made by Mrs Finster.
This could be a good way to get some fresh ideas.
And, never thought of gumbo as being a soup. Still don't, even after reading this thread..
what's next? Chicken n Dumplings is soup because of the broth? 🙄

Again, back to my Mom and my Gram. They’d make the soup, then mix flour, water, egg, and make egg dumplings instead of buying noodles. Or make “pinch noodles”; it’s the same dough, but you pinch off little bits and drop them in the broth. Delicious!

The broth is then thickened into a sauce before serving...not a soup for me 🤷♂️

Finster so if it's thickened before serving it's not a soup? What about a thick clam chowder or something? I think it's still a soup, just my opinion. We've all got 'em - just like the chili thread! lol

If anyone’s interested, [this is truly fascinating stuff🙄] I found out just last night that National Soup Month was started by…..wait for it…..Campbell’s Soup Company! 😱
The History Of National Soup Month
“Believe it or not, National Soup Month can be traced back to 1986. This is when it began as a promotional event for Campbell Soup. Although this month was intended to be a one-off, it has persisted in the public’s consciousness and is currently celebrated every year.”
”We’re not sure if this month is going to continue to be celebrated into the future, but for now, it’s a pretty popular holiday month. After all, who doesn’t love a hot bowl of soup during the cold winter months?”

Well…….at least give us a clue! I’m also curious as to what @Elton’s BBQ might do?
For the life of me I can’t get @Elton’s BBQ to turn red and tag him.. Noticed it with other people trying to tag him also. It’s typed in exactly as it should be..🤬
