    Leftover Ham in Gumbo?

    Hello meat world! I recently smoked a ham last Saturday for Easter and wanted to use some leftovers in a gumbo tomorrow Friday. We plan to have leftover gumbo after...will the ham be ok for another 3 days in the gumbo?

      I can’t imagine it wouldn’t if kept refrigerated. The hame bone would go great in a pot of red beans and rice.

        Well the ham bone is gone sadly but I did make some good chicken stock from my roasted chicken yesterday that will make a fine roux

                Ham is cured. I save my ham bones for split pea and ham soup. Red beans and rice get a smoked ham hock.
