    first bacon

    hi I tryed meatheads bacon recipe for the first time it's very good but I have a strange salty aftertaste for hours after eating is this normal or have I unknowingly used to much of something.
    the pork belly I used was under 3 pounds so used the calculator to sort out measures

    I'm not sure, but try rinsing the uncooked bacon in water. That might reduce the saltiness.

      been sat here with a beer thinking about this an wondering if I should cut off the ends of the slab as I did with the sides?

        I don't see any strong reason for either choice. Since I'm lazy, I wouldn't.

      If anything, I find Meathead’s brine to not be salty enough for my bacon tastes ..... I’d definitely try rinsing the bacon if you have that much salt aftertaste.
