    Anyone like Ribs Sans Rub?

    I've been thinking of trying to cook some ribs with just salt and pepper. Where I grew up I never remember having rubs or sauces served on ribs. I may be delusional. Does anyone here like to smoke their ribs sans rub?

      Yes, salt pepper ribs are delicious. Sometimes I use th' HV Steak and Burger Seasoning, as well...

            I think salt and pepper is a rub. That's all my briskets get. Go for it.

              I was also raised on naked ribs. Now I prefer them with a rub and some sauce, but I wouldn't turn down naked ribs.

                I've never done pork ribs with just salt and pepper, but it should be tasty. For beef ribs, I do have a very "secret" rub ..... equal parts kosher salt, granulated garlic and coarse ground black pepper.
