Growing up in Chicago we had the famous deep dish pies like Gino's, Pequod's and Lou Malnati's. To be honest I got kind of tired of the deep dish thing, too much sauce and way too much dough. A friend turned me on to Vito & Angelo's Pizzeria & Restaurant on Fullerton Ave. and it changed my pizza world. Thin crust, similar to NYC style, with the best sauce and toppings. Lo and behold they started selling them frozen and I'm getting them here at my at HEB. Now I will say that nothing comes close to fresh but you guessed it, for frozen give me Vito & Angelo's every time !!

I guess they're playing the Niners (again!) in the playoffs this weekend, those are always good. We cut the TV cord several years ago so we don't watch any sports, but I remember watching that playoff game where Mathews buried Kaepernick's face in the turf. I thought it was a cheap shot at the time (it was) until I learned most of the NFL players couldn't stand Colin. And then I discovered why they didn't like him so much. Good luck, Pack, and BOGO pizza for all on Monday!

Tried most of those mentioned here and yeah some are good, others, meh. We recently found 2-packs of Roncadin frozen pizzas at Sam's Club and were amazed at them. The wife likes the Margherita one while I prefer the pepperoni. They are imported from Italy and aren't always in stock but when they are, we pick up a few boxes.

I wish I had an opinion, but I don't remember the last time I had a frozen pizza. It has to have been years since I had one. There are at least 6 pizza take out places close enough to deliver if I don't want to make one. There are times I see 'em in the store, but they just don't pull at me enough to buy one.

I will look for the Detroit style at Costco though. But I may not buy it...

Yeah, take out and delivery aren't great options for where we live, plus pizzeria pizzas have simply gotten so damned expensive here there's no longer any value in it for us. . It's been ages since I've had a frozen pie, but I think enough time might have gone by for some to have evolved into something edible, maybe even good.

Trader Joe's Pizza 4 Formaggi is pretty tasty. I also like Screamin' Sicilian.

but if you want to go crazy you could go for something like this and get it shipped overnight

An 18" whatever pizza is about $40 bucks up here so these prices really aren't too bad, comparitively.

Wow! That’s too much. Our local pizza place delivers a really good New York style pizza. The 20 inch pepperoni is $18.56 delivered. We tip the driver so it ends up near $25.00.

I mean, I have a good pizzeria under a mile away. But the small, 11" pies start at about $18. And that's assuming I want to order then wait for it to be made and either go pick it up or get it delivered (which means more $). I do that sometimes and more often get a couple of slices from there.

But the utility of frozen pizza is that I can preheat the oven, shove the pie in and be eating in 20 minutes for well under $10 without leaving the house. No one is arguing they're BETTER, we're arguing they're more convenient and would like to share which ones are good.

I don't see the point of commenting that one doesnt eat them.

What's the point, though? Honestly, it comes off as uncharitable and condescending and that's never been my impression of you.

It's fine if you don't like and don't eat this. I just don't see why anyone would bother to comment on a topic they don't care about.

rickgregory - I am sorry you took it that way. It was not meant as either of your descriptions of my intent. My wife, who is trying to keep me alive by trying to get me to eat healthier, doesn't like me to eat pizza, so when I do eat it, I eat what I know will be good. Thus the statement "I wish I had an opinion"...

Is this what you’re referring to? For some reason we’ve never browsed the pizzas at Costco, but we took care of that just now 😀.

I have always been a fan of Totino's but ever since they went to square pizzas it hasn't been the same and recently I think the sauce has been changed and they do not put as much on it as before...

We’ve been enjoying the Screaming Sicilian brand (bonus, there’s a cut out mustache on the back of the box that you can wear to feel extra fancy)

Digiorno is okay to us, and we typically avoid Frschetta.

on occasion we will pick up the Newmans Own when we want something with a thinner crust.

I just picked up a couple of SS's yesterday. I've never tried them before, but they were BOGO. And my wife will be away next weekend, so I'll be lazy about cooking at least part of the time.

Used to be one in a yellow box called California brick oven or something like that...currently the actual name has been taken from me by buffalo trace. Once we found papa murphey in tyler we quit buying grocery store bake at home pizzas.

Whichever one is on sale that isn’t Jacks. Like the old saying goes, "even bad pizza is still pizza" except jacks.

We keep a decent stock on hand but might go months between cooking one up, but when we do cook one up it sure is a life saver.

It only takes about 5 minutes to build one and they are the perfect size. We always have mozzarella and pepperoni in the fridge and there always is a can of pizza sauce in the pantry or what’s left from a can in the fridge.

They come out nice and crispy and they don’t taste like cardboard.

How many carbs in a whole crust? I found them at Dollar Tree for $20/20, but they don’t show any nutritional data.
