You're asking about paying $5 for one of the most versatile and user friendly apps on the market? Brother I'd pay $15 for all the convenience, the cloud storage, the ability to download nearly any recipe out there, the ability to create your own content, the ability to organize all your recipes in endless categories, the fact that it doesn't time out while you're cooking, the ability to upload numerous pictures either live with your cam or from other sources, endless notes you can jot down, the ability to scale your recipe quantities up or down incrementally and at least a dozen other things I've forgotten to mention.
Dude don't finger walk, but RUN to the App store and buy that sucker. You'll thank us.
Count me as another daily user whose been using it for years. It's easy to download recipes from various websites and sync them across your devices. I use it on 3 Macs, an iPhone, an iPad & an Android phone with no issues on any of them.
Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
At $4.99 I assume that is the Windows version. I use the Android and it was $1.99. I use my tablet when I cook so it's right at my side in the kitchen. And yes includes cloud sync and all other full features. It's worth it.
I'm as frugal as they come, and I would pay for the Android and PC versions again in a second. By far the easiest way to download, sort, and store any recipes you find online. It is also very easy to add your own recipes manually. The meal calendar, and grocery list functions have been far more helpful than I would have thought possible. So, yeah. I'd say it's worth the money.
Because of this thread I decided to give it a fair shake and added a couple recipes and tried them. It was far better than using the recipe from a web page. I really liked the built in timers and that the app prevents your device from going to sleep. I think I'm sold.

Will this PC app import recipes in Word format? We have many hundreds of recipes in WORD documents that have been modified from an original recipe source, our twist on things.
One charge for each PC using it? We have a desktop and two laptops.
No on Word because it's not structured. What make this and other apps work so well on web recipes is that almost all of those actually have markup in the code that identifies things as ingredients, directions and the like,
Thanks, guys. I guess we'll just stick with what we've got. It would have been nice to point to the recipe folder(s) and just import the lot. Doing Copy/Paste from all of them individually is not worth the effort. They are already organized in topical sub-folders, so the sharing and cloud storage would be the only benefit.
You can paste a recipe in from Word. All of my recipes were in text documents, and I pasted them into Paprika, which took a little while, but did the trick. I just had to paste directions into different box in Paprika than I did the ingredient list. As others have said - purchase once for up to 5 computers.
To me it was worth it to have it in a database instead of a bunch of doc files - and then I also can see it on my phone with the phone version, or my iPad, while in the kitchen.

Y’all sold me on it too. I’ve been using the Notes app on my iPhone for years, and it’s gotten too cumbersome due to the amount of recipes I have now. Just dropped my $5 in the Apple store!
I do not like spending money on apps very much, but this is one that I did in a heartbeat. I had a recipe app years ago that I liked but was no longer updated or supported. It took me a long time to find a new one that I liked. I tried Recipe Keeper and Paprika at the same time and within an hour decided I liked Paprika and never looked back. I also got the PC version and sync my recipes between PC and my i-devices. It's one of the best apps I have ever purchased and will share on social media every year they have their sale because it's worth it to me.
I also inputted and printed out many recipes to make a cookbook for my daughter. It prints into a nice format (one recipe at a time) and looks great.
