She is adorable! We are hosting at our home. My son-in-law & I split a hog this past Autumn. As a result we both wound up with 1 12lb bone in ham each. I'll be following Meathead's Double Smoked Ham recipe albeit with a Maple ham glaze, since it was just Maple weekend here in NH 2 weeks ago and as always we are flush with very good maple syrup!

Grilla OG Pellet Cooker 🦍
Grand Prize Weiner: Blaze 3 Burner LP Grill 🙂
What a little cutie. Have an awesome visit with the little one.
We don't have any plans, but I went to the grocery today and saw they just stocked ribs, so I was able to get 2 racks at about the same weight. I'll be putting the ribs on the OG tomorrow for dinner. Didn't think about a side, now I have to come up with something to go with them. 🤔 Eh, might just throw the frozen sweet potato fries in the oven and call it done.
I have stuff to make a simple salad too.

This...along with garlic mashed taters, oven roasted asparagus with sautéed balsamic cherry tomatoes. The kids & grandkids are spending Easter with my Mom so it's just me and the Missus. The plan was to a Mississippi pot roast in the slow cooker but they had standing rib roasts on sale for $5.99lb. I bought the biggest one they had 3 bones and shade under 8lbs...so I sliced off a thick steak and froze it for another day. I trussed the roast, dry brined it overnight and used some Mrs O'learys cow crust rub and a little SPG. It's roasting now at 175°. I'll pull it at 130° and let her rest for an hour or so while we make the sides, then blast it on high heat to get a nice crust..

JCBBQ it was dumb luck..I went to the store for a chuck roast and had enough rewards points to get it for that price.

Started smoking in Aug 2025. First smoker is a Weber Searwood. I purchased a ThermoWorks Smoke to get a more accurate temperature and the pro-series needle probe. I also have a Weber grilling basket, Weber grill brush, and the Grillart steambrush. I've tried all sorts of pellets and wood flavors and my family mainly likes the Traeger signature blend. I have a meat injector and shears for poultry.
I also recently purchased a new 2010 used Weber Kettle Performer. Just got a cover for it. I bought the ThermoWorks RFX with 1 wireless probe, the SnS and DnG to spruce up the grill. I have not cooked on it yet. I cut a hole and installed the ThermoWorks billows. I did buy 4 bags of the B&B charcoal briquettes.
All my cooking has been on the Searwood. I absolutely love cooking Pork Shoulder, chicken wings, chicken breasts and steak. I won first place in my church chili cookoff (I bragged to everyone about it) and I really enjoyed the chili (and I don't really like chili). I really enjoyed Moink balls. I like cooking ribs, chicken breasts, and chicken legs with white sauce.
I look forward to cooking pork burnt ends, smoked turkey for Thanksgiving, and maybe even a brisket.
I'm still trying to determine rubs my wife will really enjoy. I love the rubs from the website, but my wife just wants some rubs that will bring out the meat flavor so she can taste the meat. I'm seeking simple rubs for chicken breasts and steaks.
I love soda and especially Dr. Pepper. I don't drink alcohol.
I live near Boise, ID. I've been married for 25 years and I have 5 kids. I'm a second career dentist.
First, that kid is adorable!
Second, we celebrated Easter yesterday because my wife's sister and her husband were here with their only child and they had to go home today. They came because my nephew is only 2 and they have never left him with anyone before. They are leaving to Paris for 2 weeks after my daughter's wedding in May and we will be watching the cutie for 2 weeks. We hope he got comfortable the week while he was here visiting. My two younger boys had so much fun playing with him.
Today, I thought I would cook 3 baby back ribs on three separate Weber cookers. I have 1 rack on the Weber Searwood, 1 rack on the Weber Smokey Mountain with my pit barrel hanging accessory and the final one on the Weber Performer with Thermoworks RFX and Billows trying to keep things steady with my SNS insert. I am keeping them all around 275 degrees. My only rub was Honey Hog BBQ from Meat Church. I used apple wood for the wsm and kettle. I used a generic pellet mix sold from Scheels on the searwood. All cookers have water pans to keep things steady and to allow me not to spray them down every hour. We will taste test when all is said and done and see what my family likes best. I am not wrapping them so they will probably have better bark but not too moist. We shall see. This is so fun!
So far my Searwood has been rock steady along with my wsm. The performer is struggling to keep a steady temperature. Oh well. I will be checking them in a little over an hour at the 2 hour mark to see where things are. I'm assuming they will cook from anywhere from 2.5 to 4 hours.
Happy Easter! He is Risen!
