So anyway, I think the Coors light sloth commercial was the best for me. I liked the Dun Kings one because of a bunch of cameos like Jay and Silent Bob but most people wouldn't have got a lot of the cameos so... The breast cancer one was also pretty good. Hype wise I think my favorite was that Elon spent 40M on DOGE commercials and everyone got all fired up and there were.... none. Maybe a good lesson to research when things get ya heated.

22" Weber Kettle w/SNS, 18" WSM, Bronco, Grilla Chimp, Traeger Tailgater, UDS, Camp Chef Tahoe Stove.
Not one state farm commercial. I don't think anyway. Plus the eagles stomped a mud hole in KC. I enjoyed that a lot. Jalen Hurts is a good guy and a good QB that doesn't get a lot of credit.
I hope Bonsey doesn't invade my dreams tonight.

I think the 4K upscaled broadcast looked great. When selecting the 4K feed through my Xfinity box I was asked if I wanted the enhanced, low latency feed. I selected "OK". Not sure how much difference it made but it looked fantastic for an upscaled feed and the colors popped in a good way.Originally posted by Panhead John View PostWhile FOX is broadcasting the Super Bowl in 4K, don’t expect much picture quality differences, this will be upscaled 4K from 1080p HDR……
As it has been in the past, the Super Bowl will not be broadcast in true native 4K HDR. Instead, it will be produced in 1080p high-dynamic range (HDR) and then upscaled to 4K HDR. This higher-quality stream will be available on DirecTV, Dish Network, YouTube TV (with 4K Plus add-on), and FuboTV. It's unclear if it will be available in 4K HDR on OTA channels. Don't invest in an 8K TV anytime soon -- unless you must have cutting-edge TV technology. There's little enough 4K content out there and almost none in 8K.

I wasn't rooting for either team but found myself pulling for the Eagles.
I always make buffalo chicken wings but wasn't invested enough in this match up to plan and by the time my wife went to the store to get wings, they were sold out. I expected that so sous vide some frozen thighs from Costco and deep fried to finish. Used a simple sauce made from Franks Red Hot Wings Buffalo sauce mixed with melted butter and some ranch dressing, deep fried some tots, and they were delicious. Plus I coated my arteries with lots of canola oil. No smoking or BBQ this time but my superbowl tradition was kind of followed.

22” Blue Weber Kettle with SnS insert
Kamado Joe Jr with Kick Ash Basket
Char-Broil Smartchef Tru Infrared Gasser
Anovo Hot Tub Time Machine with Custom Hot Tub
Wow!!! Am I seriously the first one to comment on the font of the score thingy? BF and I kept commenting that it was probably created by someone whose idea of graphic design is Canva. I get evolution of design and all…. But dayum. That was pretty bad. I hope FOX doesn’t keep it up next year.
Anyways, I’m glad the Eagles won.
commercials: I liked the Pfizer one (heartfelt), the Tubi one was clucked up, I liked the little girl running (dove), dodge ram was pretty funny, so was Michelin Ultra.

Go Eagles! Shut KC down, sacks, interceptions and running game. Also they didn't show Taylor Swift every five minutes.

I went all out last night during the game...
Heated up leftover taco soup.
Cold leftover supreme pan pizza from Pizza Hut. This was yuck, shouldn't have bothered, but I ate it anyways. <sigh>
We only watched the halftime show. Figured we would be seeing the commercials for the next few weeks, but then... I never watch anything with commercials in it. So I guess I won't. But I'm sure I'll hear snippets about some of the 'better' commercials and can look them up. lol
I saw the green team was up 24-0 at halftime over the red team. No idea what happened after that.

I used to be into sports. Too bad it wasn't women's golf or volleyball. lol Oh, but The Wife was here, so that would have been a bad idea anyways. lol

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
My Super Bowl menu consisted of air fryer wings, tossed in a home-made buffalo sauce. Celery sticks, carrots and blue cheese (for dipping wings AND veggies). Only complicated part of the cook was that I had to run the wings in 3 20 minute stints in the cooker (two "par fry" batches at 325 and a final 400 degree pass on both batches of wings).
I only watched the first quarter, then we went back to watching season 1 of Lost - a show my wife had NEVER seen, even though two of the kids and me watched it back when it was new and I was recording it off the air with the TiVo.

You know, I've never seen the last season of Lost. I was ready for things to start getting wrapped up, but the show just seemed to be an infinite Russian nesting doll.

prepperjack my wife is digging season 1, 4 episodes in - but I don't know if she will stick with it as it starts getting more convoluted and confusing. I also never saw the final season, and heard negative things about it. Overall I always like it, but this will be the first time to revisit it since I Tivo'ed it off broadcast all those years ago, to watch with 2 teenagers.
I predict my wife loses interest by season 2...

One of my international students made this remark, "I enjoyed watching my first super bowl last night. I did find it odd that in the championship game, Americans play a pro team against a high school team."
You can't top that.
