My wife calls me "Teddy" and I call her "Princess" and that's where "mrteddyprincess" comes from.
In the U.S. we have a big holiday coming this Thursday! It's up there when it comes to people cooking outside.
I'm having a small gathering and I plan to serve the jalapeno and cheddar brats I made today. I'm also figuring out whether I want smash burgers or Nashville Hot Chicken sandwiches instead.
I'll do beans and Princess will make her world famous mac and cheese. And knowing her, she'll also bake cookies.
Helping Trout Unlimited with a fishing derby for kids 12 and under. Rods will be provided for those that don't have one. After the fishing hot dogs and drinks will be provided at no charge to the families. We normally have 125 or more kids involved and serve well over 200 hot dogs drinks and chips. Rods are donated by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. They can keep their rod. So we will only grill up some hot dogs and homemade spud salad for our dinner.
We do the 4 th in Salida and Labor Day here in Buena Vista. Both of them have the same amount of attendees. Great that you helped out for so many years. I've done 18 years now.
I have the fourth of this year with the plan being cornhole, bocce with family and friends. Food wise we will be serving smoked kielbasa, kielbasa burnt ends, smoked bluefish pate', brie cups with a pepper jelly and margarita pizza bites for appetizers .
Smash burgers, hot dogs, grilled brats with jalapeno potato salad, bourbon baked beans and tater tots with a habanero cheese sauce round out the main menu. Of course this is New England so hopefully the weather cooperates. Happy 4th to all in the pit.

Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
I'll be doing St Louis cut ribs on the PBJ. I'm planning on 2 racks. It's unknown if my daughter and crew will be coming over. If they do, I will get the Spirit fired up for hot dogs and burgers for the boys.
No firm plans. Just the two of us probably. I have a couple of prime strip steaks in the freezer. If nothing else pops up, I will plop them in the SV pool from frozen and sear them off over some charcoal. 🤷♂️

Or maybe I’ll pull some beef ribs out of the freezer to SVQ. Or else, maybe we’ll just have hot dogs.
Hey Brian! I see you’ve only been hanging around here for six years, so maybe you don’t know that when someone refers to "the jalapeno and cheddar brats I made today" in a post, we want to SEE PICTURES OF THE FRICKEN BRATS!
Don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of this eventually 😀🤷♂️.
Sid P the rule is that if you did not take pics it didn't happen. I have four days to document my July 4th cookout :-))) And you still have time to drive three hours south and join us...(I've decided to definitely go with the Nashville hot chicken sandwiches along with the brats.)

We start the day with a great Independence Day Parade in our neighboring town to the south, with breakfast burritos before hitting the road - bacon, sausage, home fried potatoes, eggs, and your choice of toppings, which for me always includes my home made pico de gallo.
Most of the day is then spent at home pool-side - gotta beat the heat. Smash burgers for lunch, along with generous helpings of watermelon and strawberries.
As the sun dips behind the mountains we head to my sister-in-laws in the neighboring town to the north. They live on the lake and the fireworks display is top notch - both the city show, which beautifully reflects off the water, and the neighbors “show” which includes countless people shooting their own high quality fireworks over the lake. Tri-tip is frequently on the menu for dinner, but has not been confirmed as of yet.
One of our favorite days for family, fun, and food!
