25% of respondents typically eat dinner at or before 530, half of all respondents typically eat between 530 and 630, and only 2 report that they typically eat after 730.

Or, rather, 3: we typically eat between 730 and 8.

As a kid it was 6:30. Now my work schedule is unpredictable so it is whenever it is. My wife grew up eating dinner 8:30 - 9:00 as her folks got home from work and got organized. I remember when we started dating that it wasn't unusual to have dinner at 10:00 with them and by that time my Dad had decided that 6:00 was a better time.

Do not clock watch at all. Eat supper or dinner or “the last snack” when I am hungry or have the energy. Always on the go so it depends, no rhyme or reason.

For us it is between 5-5:30. Any later and the kids are starving!

I have GIRD, so it has to be before 7PM at the very latest - normally around 5PM.

I prefer to eat dinner between 7:30 and 8pm like we did for years. That way we can enjoy a cocktail and a chat at 5pm while I'm cooking or taking a break from cooking.

But nowadays, my husband likes to eat right at 6pm. So guess when we eat dinner. Yup, 6pm. Our liquor cabinet is getting lonely.

You could always switch to post-prandial digestifs.

I have a friend who, when faced with a conundrum like this, says the right response is always "both/and" not "either/or."

Now that it is just me, it varies. I tend to eat dinner earlier in the winter because it gets dark early. In summer, it's later. But if I'm smoking or grilling and enjoying an adult beverage or two, well......
