Now that we've had our first significant snow and negative temperatures in the mornings it's time to start thinking about those favorite winter meals. I'm talking about meals that you may not tend to cook during the warmer months. List a few of yours, here are some of mine. Maybe this will give thoughts to some of those forgotten ones. Recipes would be great too.
Smoked meat loaf
Chicken pot pie
Beef stews
Soups, usually made from leftover something
Chicken and Dumplings
Chicken fried steak and gravy
Pinto Beans, cornbread and stewed tomatoes
Vegetable Soup and Chicken Noodle Soup

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
I think it’s interesting that we don’t make turkey at all during the summer, not even smoked, but we probably have it once a month or so during the winter.
Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich.
Bolognese Ragout over Tagliatelle.
Chili con carne, with beans.
Chili verde without beans but with gratitude to CaptainMike.
Poutine.
Grilled cheese or bologna sandwich on Wonder Bread with some type of Campbell's soup reminds me of my youth. Coming home after playing in the snow all morning to a hot lunch.
Chili, Red Beans and Rice with Sausage, Pinto Beans, Mississippi Pot Roast, Pasta dishes, Beef Stew, Gumbo, French Onion/Broccoli/Potato Soups.... Just about anything that warms the bones..
Duh! Winter is the time when snow flies, your car freezes over, your driveway is snowed in and you get pneumonia.
That's why I live in Mesa, Arizona, where winter is something mostly that we hear about.

Hot Dish? What does yours have? I just was informed everyone has a different "hot dish"
For our family that is green beans, hamburger, cream, mushrooms, topped with tater tots.
A neighbor brought hot dish that was tuna noodle casserole? Sure confused the kids.
