I am sorry to hear this news. One of my closest friends sold his house in England and bought an investment property here in Oregon where he currently lives. It needed a lot of work. Fortunately, this guy is a workhorse even at his age which is decades beyond mine. He was up was working up in the attic that day removing soggy insulation. He had to pee so he made his way down and around the back when he emptied his bladder he found it was full of blood.
His cancer was so advanced they removed his bladder and fashioned a new one from a piece of his intestines. He has had to learn to adjust. He can't tell when he needs to urinate anymore but has since learned to deal with it. He just has to go every so often now and has that all figured out.
But I remember the night he almost gave in (picture below). I was out back smoking some ribs in my Orion. I live near a big bridge over a massive river. He walked that bridge that night and contemplated giving up. We talked, we ate ribs, and fortunately, he went home that night. That was 4 or 5 years ago.
Since all this happened, he sold that house for a profit and reinvested in another house that his oldest son helped him fix up, will live in with his kids, and pay the remaining mortgage. He helped his daughter fix her house so she could move to Texas and keep that investment. His youngest co-owns the house my buddy lives in with his mother.
Last month my girlfriend had her birthday and we met my friend, his wife, and youngest son at a restaurant with outside seating and heat. A week from now we'll be in an Airbnb on the coast. I'll take a break from dry January and he'll hoist a few pints and I drink some whiskey.
I guess my point to all of this is that I'm glad he decided to fight. To be there longer for his family. And to be my friend. He's a tough son of a bitch. Which is what you strike me as, Fireman.

Well, had the CT scan, it was interesting to say the least. Had it last Friday & they said "you’ll be able to see yer results mebbee tomorrow" (yes the said yer, I’m not sure if they said mebbee or maybe). Fine & dandy, I get the results and I dock my head this way, then that way & then I start lookin up the results almost word fer word. So when the Doc called me to splane the read out I sorta new what was comin, sorta. Good news is lesions in the bladder. Wasn’t expecting the S on that word, but he said no problemo "cuz they can be burned out (I am pretty sure he said cuz, cuz that’s how folks talk & he’s a down to earth Doc. Then there was other news that was a little unexpected. I did read the results & it said a "lesion on the pancreatic tailâ€. Ok, looked it up & found there are five types of thise little suckers that you can have on a pancreas. But, and here’s where it gets interesting, there only two types on the tail. One of ‘‘em is ornery & has to & can be dealt with cuz it’s trouble. The other isn’t trouble but will have to be watched fer ever cuz it could be trouble someday. I am scheduled fer a MRI next Wed. to find out if we are doin or watchin. Journey continues with a couple of extra stops & attractions. 😎

As much as news like this can be unsettling, knowing is far better than not knowing. Work your plan and keep your eye on the prize. Don't allow fear and the blues to settle in, they are both imposters that will drag you down. A little prayer never hurts, and brother, there's a bunch of us praying for you.Last edited by CaptainMike; January 19, 2022, 11:43 AM.

Chin up fireman, last year I read a book How not to Die, by Dr Greger. There is a web site by this doctor Michael Greger, Tells about nutrition and diet to help with illness. Scope it out, maybe it will help. https://nutritionfacts.org/
