Good choice, I am in NH. Schonlands are my fav but Kayem is very good. I believe Kayem bought out Schonland a few years back

Brats steamed then seared. Second would be Pork Dogs boiled. Third would be Oscar Mayer Beef franks grilled.

Yeah, me too, I'm usually eating hatch chili brats from my butcher.

I have to agree with Jfrosty27 . Just about any hot dog is a good dog. Brands that stand out for me are Vienna, Porter Road, and yeah, Ballpark.

I have been meaning to order Mosca ‘s dogs for a while. These are the ones yes?

      Alpine Butcher

And now I feel like Wild Fork dogs are a must try too. Then I am reminded that I need to order from Attjack ’s supplier (???).

But then I wonder if Fellers Ranch carries any beautiful dogs?

I feel like this is a pathway towards ending up with like 30 dogs from four different suppliers in the freezer. I dunno, could be worse.

Yep, that’s them! Word is shipping is a killer, I’ve heard. They’re in groceries around here, or it’s a 45 minute drive to the mothership with a cooler.

Thanks for the mention . . . but we are not currently making hotdogs with our Wagyu. We got really great feedback on our jerky and beef sticks, so that is where we are currently using the product that we had been using for hot dogs. (Our hotdogs got good reviews as well, but not quite like the jerky and beef sticks . . . )

All beef dogs are my starting point, usually Hebrew National or Nathan’s. Martin’s Rolls for the win! Spicy brown mustard (I like French’s) with kraut or dill relish. Minced onion too.

Locally, we are lucky to have Conecuh sausage made close by, so we get some offerings not normally sold elsewhere. They make a pretty mean hotdog, but it be mostly pork, not my favorite, but it’ll eat.

I'm in Alabama, but never knew Conecuh made hot dogs. I've not seen them in my stores, but wasn't looking either - just get the sausage up here in Huntsville stores.

jfmorris, yep they make regular and jumbo size. I really like an all beef frank, but these are still good.

Holy moly. You weren’t kidding Mosca .

I think maybe Wild Forks dogs may be included in my next order then whenever I get around to it. After Fellers Ranch though!

Yeah, they would have to include a gold piece in there to justify that one. If I were going to the Chicago MeatUp I could bring a few packs, but that fell out of the blue and the timing just isn’t right.

Excellent! I used to have a subscription to something called jumbo natty's but for some reason it didn't include hot dog reviews.

Me too. Their Polish dog is fine as well. The Costco brand is also good! Grill 'em on low-ish 'til well browned. YUM!

Yeah, this is my big internal battle. I don't eat them anymore. But they are still my fave.

Honestly, the Costco dog is the best! Attjack

Hebrew National bun length. I some times make buns using this recipe - just shape like a hot dog roll, and cut the sugar by 25% unless ya like sweet buns:

ive just tried the boarshead. Not too bad.

            poppyseed buns

mustard only usually, unless I go to ‘tillo’s. If I’m being crazy, I’ll add cheese and onions.

bbqLuv I just tried their bratwurst. Not the best, but scratches that itch!

Dietz and Watson was always a brand I enjoyed, not just their franks, but the various sausages they have as well. Unfortunately I can’t get Dietz and Watson in my area any longer. But they had really good stuff!

but Hebrew, Nathans, Vienna - they are good as well.

Hebrew, Nathan's, Ball Park beef, Sabretts. Hot dogs fron the Eastern Market in Detroit are the best though. Any of the meat counters in there. I stock up whenever I am in the area.

Vienna Beef for me. Though if we’re feeding a crowd we’ll get Kirkland beef franks at Costco.

The Costco Beef Franks are a good value for the quick go to dog.

In this neck of the woods was Shopsy's Deli Style until they got brought out by a conglomerate and got junked, now Schneiders Juicy Jumbos are the flavor of the month.
