Made smashburgers tonight on the Blackstone that I pulled out of garage retirement. These were delicious. Double 3oz patties, thick sliced american cheese, Wright brand bacon, griddled onions and a few chilled Dietz pickle chips on the bottom bun. Might do this all weekend šŸ˜†.

I had a burger tonight…but we went out with the man child and his girlfriend. I was halfway through the bunless burger goodness before I thought of taking a photo, so….it didn’t really happen.

Love seeing all these burgers so far!

Welp! The weather turned out so nice yesterday, I did a smash burger (well, two!) on the Blackstone.

Saturday, mixed up the ground beef with some SPG, formed the 4oz "meatballs", then let them set in the fridge overnight. Also made some glop! sauce and let that sit overnight in the fridge as well.

Brioche buns, American cheese, red onion, hamburger dill pickles, romaine lettuce (wished I had regular iceberg shredded up, but oh well)...

Toasted up the buns with butter, griddled up the beef with a spoonful of rendered beef tallow, and cooked up some riced cauliflower for a side (threw in some chopped red onions for flavor).

Honestly, didn't need that much food, but trying to learn to time out stuff. It's good practice for when we have people over.

Burgers were a little dark. Still good, though. I drenched them in glop sauce. I could eat a shoe with that stuff on it! Geez, they were messy though! Think I'll skip the romaine next time and go for iceberg, though. Better for salads, I think.

A few nights ago my wife asked for mushroom/swiss burgers which was perfect for me to post here. Made smash burgers on the griddle and added the swiss cheese. Brought them in where my wife had "buns" of sourdough bread ready. Simple burgers without the garden. I thought something was missing, but couldn't think what it was. We had the extra burgers the next day for lunch. We each had two bites left when she figured out what was missing.

I need to give that a try. I've done the high-heat to get a crust thing on a thick burger, but I've never tried using blackened seasoning and actually trying to blacken it. That actually sounds really good!

I made a couple of cheeseburgers on the gas grill for lunch, but didn't take any pictures. They were just run of the mill, nothing special.

Well, for years, hamburgers were always something I cooked a lot for my family. But now since it's only me, I never grill hamburgers because of everything I need for just one burger. I now go out for a burger.

Green Chile cheese burger. The ground meat is a blend of venison and brisket. Grilled over charcoal with some mesquite wood.

Forgot to add: I mixed green chilies in with the meat as well as topping the burger with them.

Ok…. One more….. I used smoked Gouda (not a good melting cheese) but I like it. Roasted red potatoes.
