Non Potato Burger sides?

Well - this cook did not come out like I'd planned. Fried Asparagus came out great.
Burgers tasted very good but I had to improvise to save them. The recipe calls for a reverse sear approach. Having read Meathead 's guide to burgers, I loosely packed my patties so as not to overwork them. And I wanted some ":air pockets for the juices to gather." Seems I packed a little too loosely and my burgers started turning into poorly shaped meatballs on the grill. Too soft to pick up with the spatula. Only thing I could think to do was crank the heat and try to get the meat to bind to itself. It worked mostly. 5 of my 8 patties remained patties. Once they firmed up enough to flip, I went with the constant quick flip method. So much for reverse searing...
Disappointed in my burger efforts, I forgot to grill the watermelon!!
