Hey, Wild Fork just put up Prime ribeyes at US$17.98/pound. That's a pretty good price - our local Wegmans charges $15.49/lb for Choice; our local Harris Teeter charges $18.99/lb for Choice Angus and $17.99 for their regular Choice.
Plenty of time to get 'em delivered before Ribeye Day
Edit: Wait... is it Ribeye Day, or Prime Rib Day?? The official "National Day" calendar shows the latter - very different experience than ribeye steaks...
Indeed, the Googles reveal that, near as I can tell, there is no official Ribeye Steak Day, only Prime Rib Day. There is a satirical National Steak (and....) Day set at one month after Valentine's Day, 14 March, which I mention as a public service announcement: beware if you go googling for "national steak day", just saying.
In any case, we have a quandary. We all got fired up (I know I did) for ribeye steak day - but it's actually Prime Rib Day. What do we do??? Yes, I'm well aware it's basically the same part of the animal, just cut differently, but most folks think of a roast when hearing "prime rib" rather than a steak, no?
(Although I wasn't hot to trot for prime rib at first blush, I'm starting to warm to the idea...)
Yeah Dave, I saw all that too, no big deal. I vote for keeping it as FireMan ‘s original post…..or we could just call it Amazing Ribs’ National Ribeye Day! 😎
+1 x + 1 and so on. Our brother FireMan put it out there. I'm all in. I did a rib eye a few days ago. They're 2 more in the freezer. And as Panhead John said, let's make it whatever we want. Amazing Ribs National Rib Eye day sounds good to me.

If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
Wow, well... I guess... I like ribeyes, but I can't afford 'em very much. I'll have to pass again. I honestly don't remember the last time I cooked a steak. Seriously. I'm sure it's been years.
I guess I've done flank and strip - but those are large cuts for multiple folks, not the 'traditional' one steak per person kind of thing. Like a ribeye, New York, even sirloin. I dunno. Now that I've got a kettle (soon as I put in the replacement the ash sweep I ordered) maybe I'll have to think about it. I doubt I'll be doing ribeyes for the family anytime soon, though...
We sure don't eat steaks here either like we used to. They've gone up.
To be honest, the ONLY steaks I have grilled in several years are from me buying a choice prime rib roast when it is on sale for around $5.99 a pound at Publix during the hoilidays. This year they were $6.99 a pound - still good for a ribeye. And those get cut into steaks (and some ribs), frozen, and rationed out 1 or 2 at a time for Yvonne and me. I don't feed them to the kids, haha.
Also supposed to go to a late spring bonfire at a friend's farm that same day. Maybe I'll skewer the steak and hold it out to the fire? His fires are always huge and hard to get too close to, as he is burning wood and debris collected from 450 acres or so...

Another week and I'll have to pull my $7 a lb ribeyes out of the freezer. Maybe they were 8 bucks, can't remember. They were the same price as the hamburger I bought at the same time, from the same side of beef.
