    After seeing all this junk applied to a perfectly good piece of cow sorry but that ain't me babe. Thank you guys for the group experiment but salt brining over night, 18 mesh pepper, a hot fire and some compound butter will be the only things that touch my steaks....

      I just channeled Troutman at a mom and pop butcher shop that had dry aged Porterhouse. I got a three inch thick Porterhouse I'm looking forward to cooking this weekend. I went in with a $100 gift card and left with a zero balance. I just paid more for that 2.5 lb steak than I ever have for a brisket :-)

      Now if I can just keep Panhead John from talking me into soaking it in A-1 sauce I'll be doing all right.

    I like both sauces, but prefer them separate. I'm happy to let others experiment and report back...
