As most of us know by now, our beloved fzxdoc recently suffered a near fatal fall down some stairs at home. She is slowly on the mend, but is not there yet. Food is said to have almost magical healing powers, along with support from friends and family. bbqLuv asked today what we might do for our next group cook, so I started thinking 🧐 Why not do a group cook to show our love and support for Kathryn….aka fzxdoc ! A perfect marriage of a group cook we can all participate in, as well as a way to show support for one of our beloved Pit Members!
I know this isn’t much notice but that’s ok. Nothing elaborate here, but something all of us love…your favorite STEAK! Whether it’s a ribeye, strip, porterhouse, sirloin, pichanha, filet or skirt…show us what you can do with it! Pellet grill, kettle, Bronco or PBC, cast iron, sous vide or Santa Maria! ….however you want to cook it.
I’ve always thought a steak group cook would be awesome anyway. I’ve seen some absolutely mouth watering steaks at SUWYC over the years, but I’d love to see em all together in one place. So, here’s the deal. Next weekend, Friday February 17th thru Sunday February 19th let’s all cook up your favorite steak AND sides to show off here, and show our support for Kathryn. Twice baked or once baked taters, sautéed mushrooms, asparagus, cream style corn or whatever sides you like…..hell even French fries are ok. [no brussell sprout pics though please].
