    Big Fail

    This dosen't deserve to be in What are you cooking channel. 1st the steak a porterhouse. My wife is still unwilling to go into a grocery store unless it's Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, BJ's or Wegmans. WTF. We are fully vaccinated. This is going to change real soon. So via pickup she gets 2 porterhouse. When I see them, oh boy this is bad stuff. You would never go into store and select these. So I Q'ved a couple of hours at 135, chilled and seared on C.I. It was dry brined and pepper. So taste was not an issue. Meat quality sucked. Told my wife what is left and the one in freezer is all hers. No arguement.
    Now I found this recipe;

    Crispy roasted potatoes, melting cheese and plenty of crisp bacon combine to make these Cheesy Potatoes a great side dish for any meal.

    great concept but the time in oven is not right. Way over done. I like the idea and will adjust to make it work. So, it turned into a liquid dinner. Not the worst ending.

    I think SUWYC is perfect for fails too, at least I usually share mine there. After all, the majority of us are always perfecting our crafts and crap happens

    I view fails as a stepping stone, not a stumbling block.
    Happy Grilling to you and PBR too.

      SUWYC is a good place for even the things that don't go well. We can all learn from, and relate to cooks just not working out for one reason or another. And you will get a lot of sympathy.

      There is however a thread just for those cooks that ran off the rails before the station. Give the posts, and the comments a look through, and decide if you want to post to that thread or not. It's all in good fun, but certainly not everyones cup of tea.

          Does TJ's, Whole Foods, BJ's Or Wegmans have magical anti-Covid powers? Is this where Jack bought his magic beans?
