Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
Just a note to finish this year's memorial cook. I consumed the last of the wings and pork chop today. As I ate, lunch and dinner I thought about our brother Pitmasters. I know this is the time we remember. But, I'm making a personal attempt to keep them close throughout the year. It's easy with Bonsey, as I have his Keep Calm Smoke On proudly displayed in my porch window. Now, back to your regular scheduled program.

I missed it by a week due to life, but I did some cooking in honor of our departed friends .... Ribs on Saturday and beans with leftover rib meat on Sunday ..... meals every one of these guys loved. And I could hear Bonesy over my shoulder all weekend!
The ribs are in SUWYC .... but here's the beans .... pinquitos, found a bit of ham in the fridge, figured toss that in too, rib meat, some bacon, onions, garlic, beef stock, some canned tomatoes, cumin, chili powder, oregano, black pepper, a couple bay leafs, a bottle of Shiner Bock and cooked it for about 4 hours. Darn good and I've got leftovers for the week.
Here's to you my friends, gone but not forgotten

I am VERY late to the party, but life happens. 3 racks of St. Louis Style ribs for my friends on the other side! We miss all of them. They all made great contributions to our community.
Smarkley, was one of the nicest guys I ever met. He pretty much walked me through the starting stages of my BBQ journey.
DanJohnston aka "The backyard Cremator" was an all time great. Truly a genuine soul and a dude that liked your post no matter how terrible that food came off the smoker. Not to mention he was a prime example of "they don't make 'em like that any more!
EdF a great guy that loved his KBQ. We exchanged many recipes and techniques over the years.
Ernest Big Ern was one of the first guys I met in the forum. He was the inspiration behind two of my favorite purchases. The KBQ and the PBC. That guy could cook and present the food in a way that no one could. A true AR legend.
Botfx was hilarious. He had a quirky, se fl deprecating humor about him that always made me laugh. I enjoyed hearing his stories about "old Vegas" and his many adventures.
PGH-RAM made a huge impact on all of us in the short time he was around. I really enjoyed hearing about his dog and how goofy they were together. He loved to cook and share it with all of us, even if his dog did not want to take part because it was "transactional" LOL.
Big Jim was a great guy and he was a huge part of our team at AmazingRibs.com. We lost a great member to the forum and our team when he passed.
Bones: what can be said.....he was an AR legend around here. He was always there to lift us up and make us happy. His cooks were good, but his delivery is what made it special to us all. He was a tender soul and never showed an ounce of ill will towards any one. We miss him dearly.
Smoke on my dear friends!
