    Photo contest

The National BBQ & Grilling Association has an annual photo contest and I am entering this year (you can too by going here https://www.nbbqa.org/awards-of-excellnce-entries ) Rules are " Includes any image where the food is the topic."

I am trying to decide which of these from the Meathead Method to enter. I need your help. I can enter more than one, but I think I should not enter all of these. Tell me which ones to eliminate. You can view them larger by clicking on the image.

I've been looking at these for 5 minutes now. They are all wonderful, but I'm coming down to the Crawfish and the Lemongrette as the two that really stand out for me.

Ditch the asparagus. Definitely keep the crawfish.

Definitely the crawfish. The fish in the picture looks like he is rolling his eyes.

I would delete the flaming fish and the lemongrette. The later is an excellent photo, just misses the protein.

Eliminate the fish. Something creepy about that one for me. The crawfish is meh for me. Oh I would love to eat that though.
            The rest are money.
            Good luck.

I would ditch the fish, and the lemongrette.

The crawfish is the best one IMO.

The crawfish is nice but I really like the squash bisque photo: the lighting is great.

All great pictures but I'd pass on:
Peter Mayle’s Flaming Fish and Lemongrette.
                  I'd keep the other 3.

I think there is too much going on in the crawfish shot.
The lemongrette does nothing for me. I found myself asking what the focal point was supposed to be.
The asparagus does not all look like it is cooked the same.

I really like the squash bisque, almost like a beautifully staged still life. Ditch the fish, it looks like it washed up on the shore complete with moss.

While I love the lemon vinaigrette photo, I would still remove that one, but I totally see why it was taken.

I’m with the others, definite no to the fish and yes to the crawfish, asparagus and squash. The lemongrette is a nice pic but doesn’t really strike me as a food related pic, at first glance.

I vote to enter the squash bisque 1st and the asparagus 2nd.

Crawfish on Dirty Rice and Squash Bisque are my choices. I think Lemongrette Is too busy. I think Peter Mayle’s Flaming Fish would benefit from more contrast between the fish and the fish platter. In saying all this it doesn’t mean any of them are bad, Rather it is just my attempt to help you choose the best. The Squash Bisque really invites you in and makes you want to sit down and eat. The napkin, the bottle and the singular crawfish head help provide a frame for Crawfish on Dirty Rice and the newspaper backdrop lends authentic to the meal.

At first, I thought that there were fish stacked on each other in the Flaming Fish image.
