So it’s been a long time since I posted. The last few 470ish days have been a lot. Some of the very hardest things happened and there were also relatively long stretches where I felt completely numb. Virtually all of it was related to work, which is nonsense and shouldn’t really matter, but holy toledo. . . Fortunately things have pulled up. And I owe a great deal to the community here that I learned so much from - as outdoor cooking has been a balm through it all. And I have a new gig now and have admonished the team I left with a gracious hasta la pasta amigos.

I have done a few things that are super exciting. I have had some landscaping done so that I have a patio and a little roof, I joke that it’s my outdoor kitchen (it’s tiny). The most exciting this of all is I have ordered a 23 Ultimate from KK! It’s in stock in the US so hopefully it will be here in the not too distant future. I will provide updates as I learn more. I will share cooks, yeah, miss you guys. . . 🐿️

Congratulations on getting through the work issues and coming out the other side with a better gig.

But most importantly, congratulations on the new cooker! I had an old original Kamado, the largest they made, the #9 in black ceramic tile. I dearly loved it and cooked on it for 16 or 17 years until building a new outdoor kitchen and going with items that could be more built in. And the old Kamado got rehomed to a friend, so it's still chugging along. Enjoy the cooker. We will all be looking forward to the first few cooks on it.

I opted for a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable instead. It blends in well with the rest of the kitchen and can do both low and slow and ripping hot searing with the fire close to the meat. Also, I’m getting older and dealing with that heavy lid was getting difficult.

When the KK arrives I'd encourage you take and post videos of the complete unboxing and set up. I did this with my SnS Kamado because there were zero videos on youtube showing everything. Videos would start with uncrating and - Bam! - the next scene was the completed set up kamado.

You never know this could be my ticket to becoming an influencer 😂. It’s going to be a process, uncrating, moving the base up to my back patio, assembly, doing burn in, figuring out the chimney stations for each temp. I will do my best 🔥🐿️
