Weird to hear blueberry season is about to start in some parts of the country. Up here blueberry season is august. The county I live in is a major berry producer, with the majority of the countries raspberries coming from here. Those frozen packages of berries are where they get the most profit. They individually quick freeze the berries with million dollar refrigeration systems that the company I work for installs and maintains. I’ve got one farm, whose refrigeration equipment I maintain, that freezes over half a million pounds of raspberries every day during the season.

What gets me is blackberrys... they grow wild and take over houses here in Oregon, yet I see them at about $3.99 a pint in grocery stores. Never bought any!Comment

We picked 25 kg of blueberries last July and froze them, we have been eating them all winter long, I do not remember what we paid. We put them in our smoothies mostly now that we are doing keto.Comment
