It's time to talk, of ships and shoes and ceiling wax, and cabbages and kings, and if the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wings....

It's a new season, and a good place to start posting new or old catches of cold water fish. I'll be heading to the MO / AK line in two weeks, and the carving boards should start to look like this:

Click image for larger version Name:	2014-03-29_20-51-23_236.jpg Views:	0 Size:	2.26 MB ID:	757322

A very lucky outing the day after the LOU's first urban fish stocking of the season. Now it's time to go free-range and catch a big cousin or two.

Yes, I'm excited. I have the gear for cold weather fishing and love it. And, as a side note, I can't believe I typed in the year '20 (2020). I grew up reading science fiction in the 60's/70's and that date seems surreal.

Haven't wet a line in what seems forever but I can remember my last catch. A couple shad and a gully shark.
BTW pigs don't have wings but they can fly.

Not really caught today per se, but safe to say it is part of our frequent harvests. In my personal opinion, this is one of the most delicious and versatile fish to cook with, plus it’s the right thing to do.

Yes, they do require handling with care, but worth it. They have a protein based venom in their spines, which get neutralized shortly after they expire, or placed on ice, or cooked. There is no risk of venom in the fillets not any edible parts. Just the spines, which are very sharp, is what requires special attention. Fun to catch!!!

We use a special tool called Lionfish Slayer. It’s a short polespear. Pair it with a plastic tube called the Zookeeper... It helps keep them in a confined space and safer to handle. Got to always keep an eye for wildlife of course, specially apex predators that smell and get excited for whatever is in that magic tube. That’s part of the thrill. Photographers tend to hang out with us 😃

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

          the good one grill

The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!
