Yikes! That makes beef prices seem a little less pricey.

I bet it tastes good! 😊

If I added up the cost of fish I catch it would be more than that 😂🙄😳😢

texastweeter I’m running a Minn Kota Terrova and a Hummingbird Helix 10. No live scope. I have a friend with live scope. After seeing how much power his consumes I decided to pass on one.

Oak Smoke I run a similar setup networked. Love how I can sidescan and then go to spot lock on curser!

Yeah well I'm running a 12 foot aluminum johnboat withe a 80lb thrust minotaur transom mount, a pond prowler 8 foot buggy with a bow mount and hummingbird 3d, and a pond king 10 foot pontoon with the same as the John boat.... the pond prowler buggy is my portable option dubbed the "HILBILLY DELUX". FIL is on the FLW tourney and has all the doodads. GPS tracking sonar & trolling motor, live scope, dual power rod setup, the works...we usually out fish him, lol. Oak Smoke smokenoob

the Copper River salmon just came out within the last few weeks. I wonder if that is from there. In my pricing, the sockeye was cheaper than the King Salmon.

I think the Aaron Franklin brisket is $34 a pound but that also includes scenery and wildlife fun.

Not sure of the species but we have beautiful vibrant red sushi grade salmon here for $13/lb.

Sockeye that has never been frozen is going to be very expensive. The further it gets from the Pacific Northwest, the most expensive to get it to you in good condition without freezing it.

Go to great-alaskan-seafood.com. But only after hitting the bank.

That’s about what I pay for fatty tuna (bluefin) for sushi. Also fresh & never frozen…nor treated or “gassed” with Carbon Monoxide, etc. Bluefin Toro runs about $70/lb…when they have it…and it goes fast.

For reference, my fish monger has sushi grade center cut salmon from the Faroe Islands for $22.95/lb today. Also fresh & never frozen. And their excellent wild caught “dry” diver scallops are $44.95/lb today.

Moral of the story: Fresh quality seafood is not inexpensive. And, as ecowper pointed out, the farther from the source, the more expensive it is to get to market and still be fresh…especially if it’s completely unadulterated.

I just looked at Sitka Seafood. Their Sockeye is $79 for 2 lbs. But it’s also been frozen.
Great Alaska is about the same and is also flash frozen. Some species are higher, and some have minimums.
