My wife has cooked them in a crockpot for years and the the whole family loves them. Cooked all day they fall apart and her homemade sauce is just right.

These are a great alternative to cooking a whole butt. I like that I can get more rub on them, which makes more bark, and more bark is the best thing in bbq. I use Memphis Dust on them and cook until probe tender, maybe 4 - 5 hours at the most. My wife loves them. We call them Meat Candy in our house because between the MMD and the rendered fat, you can't stop eating them. The shoulder is my favorite, but my wife also likes the loin version of CSR's. They are also great for making carnitas with.
