I cure my own bacon and find it best cooked on a pellet grill, in my case a OG Grilla

I have not yet tried to make my own bacon--on a to-do list and haven't tried it on my Traeger. Good idea, Thanks for the reminder.

bbqLuv Meathead has a few recipes that are excellent and very clearly written. I usually use his maple bacon recipe.

I cook our bacon in the oven. My better half likes hers crispy while I like mine floppy. I find if I put her bacon on the sheet pan in a single layer and I put my bacon on the sheet pan stacked 2 high, they both turn out perfect at the same time.

      Interesting, stacked 2 high.

Anybody here ever cut the bacon in little pieces and cook em in a deep pot. Ya can cook
2 to 3 lbs of em, stir em, the pot contains the splatter and ya got yerself quite a pile of tasty snacks fer whenever.
Be careful, cuz the first time I did it I only did a pound and I ate the whole batch. So much fer snacks later.

I’ll do this when I make my Maple Bourbon Onion Bacon Jam. It’s the first step. Never thought of stopping after I cooked the bacon and consume with a spoon. 😆 😋
