Wright's bacon

My local Hy-Vee has Wright brand bacon on sale for $8.99 for a 24oz package. Had to pick up a few packages at that price.

If you're a Sam's Club member, they often have it for ~$16 for 4lb pack, so $4 lb. It is great bacon!

They have 3 types at Sam’s: hickory smoked, applewood smoked, and hardwood smoked. While all three are wonderful, hickory smoked is a clear winner, IMO.

That being said, I pick based on expiration date. That way, I don’t play favorites, and 4lbs of bacon at a shot is a lot for just the two of us.

Yeah, the applewood is really salty. It’s still good, but the others are better.

Used to purchase Wrights exclusively until we found this bacon at our local butcher. Kunzler brand from Lancaster PA. We purchase in 10 lb boxes. So good.

That's an incredible price. I sometime find it on sale at the nearby Air Force commissary for an equivalent price. It's my back-up if my favorite brand (Burgers' Thick-Cut Steak Bacon) isn't available. I like the taste of Wrights but I buy Burger's because it's thicker.

I appreciate that both of these brands are dry cured instead on injected.

Huskee thanks for the tip. So here’s how it all went down. Our membership had expired. Because Lance is a t-mobile user, we got our membership re-upped for only $20. (Keeping gas in my truck will pay for this in no time). Went to the store and picked up a pack of bacon. Received $10 off. So basically, I just got 4# of wrights for $6.
