Looking for some Pork Belly Ideas?

So I have a freezer full of pork belly and came across this list while looking for alternatives to bacon. I'll definitely be trying (and reporting on) some of these.

Those look like some great ones. I vote burnt ends though, first.

The comment I got on pork belly burnt ends, "Wholly Crape their delicious!"
So, ditto on the burnt ends--you won't be sorry.

Here is a list of options from the free side of the site.

My current favorite is the Bahn Mi Sandwiches. So, so good.

We have been making these Meat Church inspired tacos with "Bacon Brisket" as they call it in the video. Made it just like the video and they are delicious!! Link to the video:

Pork belly is a cut I haven't smoked yet. I'm not interested in making bacon, but burnt ends and belly sandwiches are on the short list now. 👍

ID:	1263011I am a big fan, especially when I chop it up and add to a charcuterrie...cracker with cream cheese, pepper jelly and bits of pork belly

Coming into this discussion late, but triple B is on my list. I want to do a traditional hole in the ground bake before it gets too cold, if I have the time.

Another great way to make pork belly is just to simply smoke it. I love it that way, keep it simple and let that porky fat do all the talking. It is so good.

PB, is just a fantastic way to go.

Haha pkadare, sweet meat is what I call all the things my wife doesn't like about barbeque, mainly the sauces on meat. She's the one you see ordering ribs, chicken, and whatnot nekkid. Her loss, my gain, but she is Brazilian so it's okay: salt + meat = done.

Yep, just let it rip. Cover in any rub you want. Pork Belly is really forgiving so it is a great choice to try new things with. You can also baste with any sauce you want as well. High sugars should wait until the last hour though. HotSun

Well, I've smoked hundreds, and I love it. I think I would pick pork belly over brisket if I had a gun to my head). Just smoke it and triple-glaze it with a tasty dark syrup (think muscovado sugar, but the syrup version), and you're good to go. It just doesn't get much better.

In the US: use grade B maple syrup.

I'll cook/smoke 1/2 a slab until 165. Let cool then wrap in cling wrap and put in the fridge for a couple hours to get good and cold. Then when ready we cut it into 1" thick steaks and grill, when back to 150 degrees start glazing with what every type of fruit glaze you like and keep flipping until it sets and you starting getting that faint char....YUM!!
