    smarkley's creole pizza sauce

    Creole Pizza Sauce!
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 cup chopped onion
    • 1/2 cup chopped celery
    • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper, green or other color
    • 1 large clove garlic, minced
    • 1 can (29 ounces) tomato puree
    • 1 can (14.5 ounces) tomatoes, diced
    • 1/2 teaspoon Creole or Cajun seasoning blend, or salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1 teaspoon dried leaf oregano

Saute onion, celery, bell pepper(the cajun holy-trinity) until onion is translucent. Add garlic... saute a little (DONT burn it)

Add all the other ingredients and simmer for 5-10 minutes.... enjoy!

    notice the holy-trinity in it!

Looks simple to make .. I like it! Would you blend it or leave it chunky? Does it store well?

I would not count on it lastng long in the fridge.. there is no vinegar... I like it chunky, so just smash it up by hand. BUT, you could throw the whole thing in the blender, smooth it all out. It's all good.

I hate chunky stuff. Love everything you got in it. Blender it is for this white boy.
