BREAKING NEWS! New York Times food critic reviews frozen pizza!

Just finished trying the Di Fara pizza Hulagn1971 recommended. I really didn’t care for it too much.

texastweeter The pizza was very good, one of the best frozen pizzas I’ve had. I’d rank it up there in the Top 3 I’ve had before, The Motor City pizza, which is totally different….it’s a deep dish Detroit style, and a Paul Newman pizza I had one time. The tomato sauce and cheese on it, along with the crust, actually tasted fresh and not frozen. As you can see I doctored up the pizza with more pepperoni and added some sliced jalapenos and mushrooms, but I made sure to try my first few bites without my add ons to get a true feel for its taste.

PIZZA STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX…

When I read some reviews from the Target website there were some reviewers who complained about the paltry amount of meat toppings on their pizza, very few complained about the taste. I experienced the same thing, great taste but a lack of sufficient meat toppings. YMMV. I had exactly 3 pieces of sliced sausage and 5 pepperoni slices on mine, I felt there could have been more. There was 8 little meatballs in total which I felt was ok. Anywho, I went ahead and added more pepperoni to mine before cooking, along with mushrooms and jalapeño slices. This is a great tasting pizza and well worth $10., just be prepared to possibly add a little more meat if you’re like me. 👍👍

We will stick with the Motor city. Had 3 tonight since I didnt have time to cook for the wife and kids.

I bought two last night. I had the Pepperoni pizza for dinner but I overcooked it and the crust was really crunchy. Despite that I thought it was one of the best frozen pizzas that I have had. The sauce was sauce, not some paste like stuff that I get on most frozen pizzas. Mine had enough pepperoni but I wish it had more basil.

For lunch I had the Classic, no meats just cheese, sauce, and basil. Cooked perfectly with a delicious crust and the sauce, again, was tops.

Target also has the Motor City pizzas so I'm heating a Pepperoni right now. They are bigger and thicker, by the time the center was done the edges looked a little dry. Its resting, I'll cut into it in a minute. I had one of these before when Panhead John took me to Costco in Houston - it was the three meat. It was good but their Italian sausage had so much fennel that it tasted a bit like licorice candy.
