    Ya gotta LOVE Pizza! Fer a week!

    Not to be confused with National Pizza month (October) or Day (Feb 9) or World Pizza Day, this here week from today Jan 14th to Saturday, Jan 20. But here on the Pit, I’m a goin to give em (ya’ll are the em) an extry day and throw in next Sunday. Whatever ya can do, order em (now that’s pizza I’m a referrin to) cook em (that is ecstasy to Richard Chrz) eat em, shoot even git one from Papa Murph’s & throw it on the grill. Although it might be a little icy fer the up nort folks. Enjoy yer week!!!

    Perfect timing to try out my new DIY pizza steel. Probably Saturday. Gotta get back to work next week. 👍

      I’m currently a slice a day in 2024. Last year i I did a slice a day through Jan & Feb.. not sure I’m going that long again, but I have no reason not too. Lol

        Well, if you insist. I mean who am I to breach the tradition of pizza week? Fortunately, my darling wife loves pizza at least as much as I do so thi/s will be an easy sell.

        Good thing my Roccbox arrived yesterday! Since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I've been really missing good pizza. Found several places with good dough but the cross contamination was a problem as it was cooked in the same oven (sometimes the same stone!). Going to make the dough tomorrow while I burn-in the oven, then give it a day or two to proof. So, sometime mid-week I'll give it a try. Ah, pizza!!

          I made regular oven pizza with the Better Batter Artisan Blend and it was very good. I think I'm going to try the Caputo first. Interestingly it contains wheat starch but the FDA considers that to be gluten free. Apparently it's ok for celiacs, less-so for folks with wheat allergies. I'm running behind on making the dough...today is the day. At least that's what I keep saying.

          Well, you would know. It will be interesting to see if there is a reaction. Two things raised suspicion in your statement, FDA and considers. I will be waitin & seein.

        I moved my pizza oven into the outdoor kitchen for the winter so I'm in. I've got pizza fever because I was able to repair my oven when I had been worried it might have to be replaced.

            NY crust, red pepper flakes sprinkled on a raw tomato based sauce, buffalo mozzarella, ricotta, pepperoni and salami, arugula dressed with evoo, parmesan cheese. Launched into an 800f stone in an original Blackstone pizza oven and then turned down to low. Cooked for maybe 5 minutes.

              First pizzas on the new Roccbox. Gluten free crust using the Ooni recipe. Room for improvement but the best pizza I've had in a very long time. Used the propane burner. This thing sure gets hot!

              I figured I could squeeze one more in this week. NY crust, San Marzano tomatoes and kosher salt for sauce, ricotta, low moisture mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, red pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese.

                Full disclosure, not my dough, picked it up this am at Grand Central. Pretty good, not as good as if i had taken the time to do a Forkish recipe but in a pinch it’s better than the pizzerias around here. 🍕🍕🔥🔥🐿️
