    MMS.

See, everyone has MCS. But I say, once you got something to cook on, and you’ve got it mastered, you should not get MCS: you should get MMS.

    More Meat Syndrome.

Right now I’m going back and forth and in between Allen Bros, SRF, and Creekstone Farms.

SRF is “old reliable” for me; they’re a little higher priced than the others, but the beef is really good and they’ve stepped up for me in the past. They’ve done some really nice things, and believe me, that counts.

Allen Bros have stepped up, too. Those Wagyu flank steaks that Meathead raved about? I can’t stop thinking about them. They’re that good. And as far as service, it has been exceptional. These guys stepped right up to the plate and didn’t blink. The holiday order goes here.

Creekstone Farm... never ordered there. But they have a whole prime ribeye, 14-16 lbs, fresh not frozen, for $284. I’m going to look for one of those “first order?” coupons, but even if they don’t have one, that’s a deal, at least among high-end purveyors. That’s a four rib roast and maybe eight 1.5” thick ribeyes. I got the vacuum sealer all tuned up!

Thing is, I’m not going to pick from one of them. I’m going to pick from ALL of them. It ain’t MMS otherwise. I don’t need something new to cook it on. I already have that. I just need more stuff to cook!

It is easier to get another freezer than to fight MMS.

I have only tried brisket from Creekstone and it was very good. Not SRF Wagyu good but still a step up from Costco.

The cure can be found . . . Take one as need.

          Hope this helps.

One other to look at, Great Western Steaks. Emilio is the E-Commerce specialist. He is THE guys who answers the phone. I just started using them this year. Excellent service, great steaks! Right now the purveyors of Wagyu are sitting on a ton of inventory because high end restaurants are closed. They have been running BOGO on multiple cuts. Great deals on great products! Check them out.

Panhead John seems to have developed MVS (More Vegan Syndrome) judging by some his recent recipes he's posted.
I fear the situation may be grave.

I don't look for the high end meat purveyors, its off the shelf for me.
Don't know if my taste buds are sophisticated enough to tell the difference between high end and off the shelf.

I agree...wasn’t the idea of bbq to make the low end cuts of meat taste great? I’m not against buying wagyu or even prime but the challenge for me is to take that decent choice brisket and make it taste great....just my 2 cents.

I’m not looking to bbq any of it. I’m going to grill the steaks and roast the prime rib.

As far as “off the shelf”, that’s a crap shoot. I’ve had good luck paying the extra dollar or two per pound for Certified Angus, but I’ve had too many watery, tasteless steaks from the grocery when I’ve just grabbed whatever was there. For me, the sweet spot is private label certified, top/high choice. I’ll take the next step up if it’s a deal. The Wagyu is great, but leaves me questioning the value.

I hear you Mosca! What's the point of having various cookers if you don't have quality meat to toss in them? MMS! MMS!
I love A bar N ranch. Outstanding meat, reasonable prices, and perfect delivery record. I have tried Porter Road a couple time with nothing but delivery problems. Some their fault, some FedEx errors. But what meat I did receive was very good and fairly priced.

A friend just picked up his steer and two pigs from processing. I think he has us all beat! I will do what I can to help him dispose of excess. This isn’t half of it.

Y’all are missing the boat. I’ve been getting really good deals from Billy Ray’s Roadside Farm just outside of Sweet Lips, Tennessee. He’s got the best Wagyu Armadillo this side of Alabama. 89 cents a lb. I just picked up 11 of em for my winter cooks and stews. I been talking to Billy Ray himself to see if we can get an AR discount. They’re all cage free and grass fed. They sleep in climate controlled quarters in sheep’s wool beds. Soothing opera music is played at night to help them get a good nights sleep. During the day the armadillos are all hand massaged and they get to frolic in natural spring fed ponds..... surrounded by gently rolling hills filled with daffodils and marigolds.......It don’t get no better an this.

smokin fool If you put pineapple slices on top when you roast it, the pineapple will help tenderize the meat.

To date I have used Creekstone and Porter Road. Both excellent, especially the Creekstone spare ribs, but not so much better than my local butcher that I use them that often (well, Creekstone ribs are on my repeat often list). I will use them for stuff I can't find at my butcher, like lamb neck or something. Haven't tried Allen Bros or Great Western yet; Grande Natural Meats is another I meant to try.

I haven’t found any pork ribs that I think are that much better than what I get locally at Wegman’s or Sam’s Club. I get pretty good beef at Wegman’s, as long as I go with CAB (as I mentioned above). This purchase is actually because we haven’t gone anywhere or done anything fun since March. At least we can eat “high on the cow”!
